Mario and Zelda: both of them are very good series. Everybody cannot wait the new games from these series.

damn.... hard choice but back then in the 90's i always thought sonic was the best of the two, neither link nor Mario could run that fast, also its music was the cooler than mario's or zelda's. Until 98 came and i bought ocarina of time and my opinion changed.

Ohhhh maaaan. Why do people gotta waste a vote on sonic? You jokers! It's a fact; nobody likes Sonic, not even his mother. It's Mario all the way! He can jump AND flip around in his 3d world. Link can sort of jump, not of his free will though, which is a bummer for him AND me. Mario can jump whenever he wants to! See that rock the Link just walked around like a chump? WOAH! Mario just back-flipped it! Just one of many reasons why Mario is the best.

sonic - my first console was a genesis and i fell in love with sonic 1,2,3,knuckles, etc. Great series. i haven't had the chance to play any DC/GCN/XBox sonic games, though.Mario is a close 2nd.

Well, my first console was a sega master system with sonic games. Taht made me like sonic a lot, so my votes goes for him.

Mario's got the best platformer ever made in SMB3, another top ten platformer in SMW, the game that pretty much defined how 3D adventure games would play in M64, and at least two good RPGs (haven't played the first Paper Mario or the second Mario & Luigi) under his belt. Three great games, two good ones, and a horde of decent ones. Link's got one great one, and a bunch of ho hum affairs. Sonic's got pretty much nothing. Mario it is, and it's not even close. Maybe if Samus or even Kirby were in there..

Of all three, I would say I love Zelda the best. The great adventure and story of Zelda kicks butt! I also love the characters from the past two games very much (FYI Twilight Princess & Wind Waker). The next one would be Sonic because when I was growing up I loved playing a Sega Genesis and Sonic. Mario is my least favorite, and although I like his games, he has gone downhill greatly for the past couple of years. =\

Zelda is the deepest series I have ever known of. Each game consumes my life until I have finished it, and the story calls to me whenever I stop to go eat. I have to take a year long break before i replay a Zelda game, just to forget some of the puzzles so I can enjoy the experience over again.

I like 'em all, but I've grown up with Sonic more than the other two, plus he'd woop em both, hard to hit something that moves faster than the speed of sound.

I like Zelda better. Sonic is cool but he dosen't have awhole lot of moves(at least not in the games I have played) while Link has a new set of 30 odd items for each game. Also Zelda seems alittle more epic then Mario and Mario's plots have reach cliche status with how he is always saving Peach from Bowser.

I voted Zelda because I am really fond of RPGs and the series is still one of the best (after all these years!). The original Zelda for NES is still and amazing game which has a lot to offer: I love burning trees trying to find new secret entrances!

Zelda. Hands down. I mean you get a frikken sword and have to solve elaborate puzzles. The adventure game is unrivaled

Zelda pwns. Mario isn't really my kind of game, but i love mariokart and super smash bros. Sonic? Sonic?! How can sonic even compare.

definately have to say mario cuz hes been around the longest and hes a lot harder to get tired of than other video games, i personnaly love super mario 3
