ummmmmmm you're retarded. ps3 games are developed and tested on computer emulators BEFORE they go to a ps3. Computers will always have better technology than consoles because consoles are just computers dedicated to the playing of games. the problem is that most average people won't have powerful enough computers. and trust me, 10 years from now, ps3 will look like crap so you're random guess at the amount of time it will take is total bs.think about it. gamecube hasn't even been around for 10 years(a little more than half that) and it already looks like crap compared to ps3/xb360/wii.If anyone could it would take more than a decade to even have computers fast enough to run the emulator.

Porumy has got it spot on here. But how long will it take.Well PS2 Emulation is at the moment low and it has been out for a while, the CPU speed to run a game at good speed at performance requires a computer that is nearly top of the range now days.Looking at GB and Terrabyte hard drives we will have the space for PS3 ROMs and Games with in 2 years at least. However looking at CPU speed as it has risen over the last few years we will be waiting a while for a computer that has enough grunt in it to run a PS3 game in about 6 years or so minimum !So yes people will make the Emulators within a year perhaps but the stats of actually running one of these games at the required speed and performance shows we will be waiting a while, people starting high school will graduate by the time this happens. In a few years it will be possible, but that's when we'll have like 3-5 Terrabytes hardrives to hold the huge PS3 games that are ranging from 10-50GBs.

CPU speed doesn't have to rise for processors to get more powerful, just look and the new core2 chips. If someone could make a multithreaded emulator than I don't see why it will take 6 years for processors to be powerful enough. However looking at CPU speed as it has risen over the last few years we will be waiting a while for a computer that has enough grunt in it to run a PS3 game in about 6 years or so minimum !
