No, in 2.4 you won't even need to encrypt the ROM to play it. You can expect v2.4 to emulate the game (almost) as well as v2.3b did.BTW, in the "List of Perfectly Working Roms on Emulators" topic, it say Harvest Moon DS works with save type set to EEPROM 0.5k. However, I tested the game with that save type, and it doesn't work. I repeat, save type set to EEPROM 0.5k DOES NOT work. This can be verified by following these steps:1. Set save type EEPROM 0.5k 2. Restart emulator with the setup saved to ensure that the save type is EEPROM 0.5k3. Starting the game4. Play the game up to the first save opportunity 6. Save the game to any "diary" (ie. save slot) you wish5. Load from the same in-game main menu the save you just made6. The game will say that there is nothing saved (it will say that for both "diaries")7. Restart the emulator and load the game8. There will not be a "continue" option at the opening menuThe correct save type for 561 - Harvest Moon DS (U) is Flash 512k. You can verify this by using the same method outlined above (the game will load for Flash 512k in each of the instances that it did not load for EEPROM 0.5k).EDIT: I'm curious as to whether No$gba can emulate the GBA slot of the NDS. I mean can I play a DS game as if a GBA cartridge were in the GBA slot (to unlock some secret stuff that is only available through this method)?

the compatibility list hasnt been updated

That's because instead of updating the first post again and again, you just post working games into the List of Perfectly Working Roms. If the game is there, it works perfectly. If it's not, it's either not tested or it doesn't work.

v2.4a released! Damn that was fast. The NDS emulation is developing mighty fast compared to the debut of the GBA....- nds/help: added nds-lite case/joypad ascii arts, and nds-lite supply pinout- spam: nocash-lite was posted online - new addresses in email.htm or about-box- nds/3d: forces instant new gxfifo irq (if any) on attempt to acknowlege it- nds/sound: fixed output to sample.wav script file (for diagnostics purposes)- nds/adpcm: emulates nds-rounding-error, uses fast-pre-multiplied adpcm tables- nds/adpcm: fixed clipping-bug in no$gba, and emulates real nds-clipping-error- nds/sound/help: added more ima-adpcm notes (rounding-error and clipping-error)- stat: performance indicator counts frames on nds9 only (=60Hz) (instead 120Hz)- nds/tsc/debug: displays all tsc channel values in io-map (touchscr, mic, etc.)- nds/tsc: prevents penirq if disabled, penirq more in sync with tsc-adc values- nds/3d: drains gxfifo before gxfifo dma (fixes mariokart/downhill slowdowns)- nds/3d: forces DepthMask=1 on ClearDepth (if it was 0 from translucent/attr)- nds/firmware: applies different mac addr to each machine with wifi-crc adjust- nds/firmware: forces def.fmw/wifi header (if firmware.bin missing) (downhill)- nds/firmware: forces user settings [65h]=FCh=good (if firmware.bin missing)- nds/firmware: fixed touchscreen/calib screen coords origin 1,1 (instead 0,0)- nds/dos/3d: translates by w, recurses current viewport x1/y1 and width/heightI'm not too great with programming...so does this new release fix the lack of memory for firmware setting?EDIT: I just realized that this release has MUCH improved sound emulation...no more static and what not...sounds almost like my real DS.

I haven't downloaded the bios, only the upgraded firmware. Unfortunatly Castlevania is still not compatable, so hopefully it will be in future versions. Thanks for the list there Ody, made it easier for me to figure out what games I like are compatable. Unfortunatly not a lot. ^_^

actually i was able to save the game using no$gba v2.4a (firmware and bios included) with flash 256kbytes save type, but i wasn't able to retrieve the save file. that's why i was asking if there is a way to retrieve it because the screen just turns black once you try to retrieve the file. I hope someone can fix it because if that happens, pokemon pearl will be fully playable, but just a little slow and bad sounds!!!

Fully Operational means little to no slow down and able to save, if Pokemon Pearl/Diamond still slow down drastically after leaving the house then they aren't Fully Operational. I haven't tried with 2.4a but with 2.4 it would slow down outside of the house then crash a bit after the first battle.

The crashing after the first battle depended on settings, for some reason it seems if you have the sound on (eh just put your computer volume on mute if it bugs you) you could get past the first battle (although due to how slow the whole process was it took like half an hour just to get up to and complete that battle. v2.4a is faster than v.2.4 but the outside parts of the game are running about 40 - 70% slower than the game would play on an actual DS.Save doesn't work...well you can save and it acknowledges there's a saved file but trying to load it just results in black screens.

Use the DP loan feature, or post until you have enough points. There are other sites - that's what Google (or your favorite search engine) is for.

You don't use start to bring up the menu. You use X in diamond.

actually i was able to save the game. yes, i believe Ody said that we should use FLASH256KBytes to save the game, but i wasn't able to retrieve the saved game. so i followed Skill1414's post and then i was able to retrieve (load) my saved file.
