STEP 5: IMPORTANT: save type

• If you encounter an error saying something along the lines of "failed to read data" or "reinsert cartridge", just go to Options -> Emulation Setup and under NDS Backup Media, choose the correct save type.
• You can find the save type at PocketHeaven or at dualscene.
• If the information is not available, try all possible save types until you find the good one (tip: EEPROM 64KBytes is the most used as of yet, start with this one).
• IMPORTANT: Save the setting (Options -> Save options) so that the save type is saved.
• IMPORTANT: Go to File -> Reset Cartridge. If you skip out this step, the rom still won't save. The rom must be reset for the new save type to take effect. Now you have in game save support.
• If saving still doesn't work, try using the size eight times smaller than the one listed. For example, EEPROM 64kb (notice the lower case 'b') is the same as EEPROM 8kB (notice the upper case 'B'). This is because there are eight bits ('b') in every byte ('B').

hm... well in the stickys the moderator posted something on the No$gba one about a firmware update... can anyone tell me where to get this... |(since its not in the sticky) POINTS were deducted for this post by Subaru H.Please refer to the forum rules to find out why your points were deducted.

You don't need firmware anymore, so forget about it or read carefully the first post.

yes i read that but then a black screen pops and then it closes and then another black screen pops up and closes and then it says cartridge not foun then you need to click ok

uhm i'm trying to play megaman dragon force but i can't see where i'm fighting:( knows anone if there is a bios or something that can help this, i can't seem to find this.As second as i'm playing digimon world dusk i can't save. i looked it up and it appeared the save type is 512kb EEPROM, but the types on No$GBA goes only till 64. is there a way to pimp it to 512.Ultmaniak

No, play megaman dragon force with ideas 1.0.1.9 beta for now. no$gba will in the future to improvement more 3-D, ok ? :DiDeas and no$gba are difference. no$gba version should be 64 .... try it.

i know it's really the wrong topic about it but i don't think ideas would work for megaman as it doesn't plays it at all on my computer:s just to let you gues know.

Not working on your computer doesn't mean it doesn't work. Most likely, you have a wrong setting somewhere, although, I really can't think of any reason why it wouldn't work in iDeaS...

Just like how a Nintendo DS reads a EU game if the language you set it up with for example is French then your own DS will be on French even the game that you put will be in French. This is also the same thing for the Emulator, the person who made it was Dutch/French so he made it into a Dutch/French Emulator so it reads a EU game to Dutch/French language that's the problem. I need to know how to change the emulator's language to read EU games in English.

No$gba developper is German and the emulator is written in English so it has nothing to do with the emulator itself. As I said, it depends on the language of the firmware. Download the English firmware and it will select the English language by default if it is available, just that simple. The reason why a French DS would select French in a EU game that contains French is also due to the French firmware in it.

Ok so I got the Paws and Claws things for the Cats and Dogs best friend DS ROM and I can't get it above 30%. This I read is normal and all the other emulators give my computer an apparent seizure(I'm alright, tho). Do we merely wait for the next version to come out or is there a fix? I turned the sound off and use the Unlimited 10% so we merely wait, right? Nothing else is running and get this: my compy only uses 30% of my memory to play that! =o insane..

Treiss, yes you gotta wait. There is nothing you can do about the speed. Please dont complaint about it. The developer is focus on improvement the compability and not speed right now. He will increase it very soon so please be patient or buy NDS lite.. your choice ?

What do you mean can't emulate properly such as harry pottery and phoenix ? I played them and they seems fine to me. What's the problem ?

We do not understand what is your point ? It save just fine to me. Just use the save type in no$gba options. Look at the sticky threads in emulation/hardware and find EMULATOR USER'S GUIDES for how to use the save type. :PThis game for the save type is: 256kbytes.
