Okay, now before someone deducts points from me, I must say, I have absolutely no clue about the stuff that was in the directions, I never knew how to properly use a zipped folder/item, I'd always give up and delete it because I don't understand it at all. I also was never able to download anything from "megaupload" because I never see a download button for the right thing...So, if anyone here is kind enough, can they please give me detailed (as in click by click) directions to a complete computer noob? I would be forever grateful. Here is where I am, I already finished step 1, and I don't need the things for Yoshi's Island DS (Because I don't have or want that game currently), but here is where I am lost, the highly reccommended stuff, "- Information and download on Ngemu: here (need registration to dowload)", I recently finished this step, though I'm not sure if its in the same folder as that other thing as mentioned on the "Important", and I don't know how to move files...and I do not have the "Download mirror" thing for I don't know how to download from megaupload, I already downloaded the Roms, and in step 4, it says to "run" the roms...I right clicked on the roms and the only thing it brings up are open and others, but no run...And again I don't know how to unzip files and such...I know this will probably get me to lose points, but I just ask, please can someone help me with this? If I'm able to do this correctly with someones help, I'll be thankful even if I were to lose points...Read the instructions properly and thoroughly. Anyone who asks a question where the answer is posted here already will have points deducted.1. How to Use No$gba?
[*]STEP 3: Download the romsAll NDS roms can be found on DGEmu. You can also download a list of working popular games on this emulator without points: link.[*]STEP 4: Run the romsIMPORTANT: Unzip the rom. However starting from v2.5c, zip files are supported as well but I wouldn't want to risk too much and prefer play with uncompressed roms.Click on NDS2xGL.EXE (or NO$GBA.EXE if you don't can't/want to use NDS2xGL). A window will pop up asking you which file to load. Chose a rom and click on 'OK'. Depending on the compatibility of the rom, it can run or not. Just pray for it to work.
- STEP 1: Download the emulatorThe latest version of No$gba can be found here. Download the latest version, then create a new folder and extract the emulator therein.
- STEP 2: Optional Files[list]
- BIOS and FIRMWARE * this part is optional - Yoshi's Island DS seems to be the only game that requires this. These files might be optional but better have them in your folder. They may help fix a couple of black screen problems. Download, extract and place them in the SAME folder as your emulator.- BIOS: Download- FIRMWARE: Download
- NDS2xGL * highly recommended.Download and extract the content in the SAME folder as your emulator:- Information and download on Ngemu: here (need registration to dowload)- Download mirror: here (no registration required)The main purpose is to enlarge your little emulator screens as well as giving you the opportunity to rotate them (useful for some games like Brain Age). The stable version of NDS2xGL is now very good and can improve No$gba performances while the old beta version caused serious lags. However, for some systems, it may not work (mainly Vista users), please read the information thread on Ngemu for help.

I put it in the save type EEPROM 64KB, that's what it says on the websites..Then it could be the save-type detection of no$gba, try to set it manually. You can find a site fot the save-types of nds games on the first page of this topic.

First of all don't be afraid of point deduction, you've got a normal question about no$gba and that's what this topic is about. Ok so you don't know what unzipping means? I'll first explain a .zip file to you, a .zip file is a compressed folder that is used to put some files on the internet so that they are smaller. But if you don't have the propper programmes you can't even use the file. So the first thing you'll have to know is do I have xp or vista, or do I have an older version? If you've got xp or higher then you can just go to the folder with the file and right-click on it. Then you select extract file (could be something else my pc isn't English) and then you just follow the steps on the window that comes up. If you don't have xp or vista then you can use 7zip or peazip. Just search it with google and download the file. Then run the setup of the program (just double-click the file) and follow the instructions on the screen. Now depending on your program you can mostly right-click the file and select extract. If you can't do this then open the program and extract it with the program. If you want to play a nds rom then you must double-click no$gba first (It has an A like icon) you'll get a window called insert cartridge... and you see the folders on your pc. Go to the folder you extracted before (it's a good thing to name the folder the same as the .zip file) and double-click the game (this is meant with "running", just playing the game with the emulator). Now you can play the game! Have fun.Okay, now before someone deducts points from me, I must say, I have absolutely no clue about the stuff that was in the directions, I never knew how to properly use a zipped folder/item, I'd always give up and delete it because I don't understand it at all. Did you restart the rom after you changed the save-type? Because only then you'll notice the change in the save-type. But I never played the game so I didn't encounter the issue before, maybe I'll download it and check what's wrong...I put it in the save type EEPROM 64KB, that's what it says on the websites..

how do we turn the sound desired mode to none??? I turned the sound output mode to none and the game "SD gundam G generation" freezes at some point. My sound desired sample rate is set to the lowest "low (10kHz)(fast)"better turn your sound off [click 'F11' and change the 'sound desired mode' to 'none']

I've done that during every save, and I just did it again following your steps 100%. When I got to open my save file, all I get is a blank screen.Blank as in, all black.EDIT:PROBLEM SOLVED!The ROM I downloaded turned out to be hacked or something, it was for an older version of the NO$GBA or something of the like. Anyways, I deleted it it, downloaded a new copy, and my save works 100% now.The save type has to be set before the rom loads.Go to Options, Emulation Setup. Change the save type to Flash 512kB (under NDS Cartridge Backup Media). Click OK. Reset the rom, by right-clicking and selecting Reset. Go back to Options and select Save Options. Now you should be able to play, save in-game and load normally, even after closing the emulator.Note that different roms have different save types, so you need to change the save type for each rom that has a different save type. If this is the case, follow these directions to change the save type each time you start the emulator, but you can skip the Save Options step.If you're using 2.6a, you shouldn't even have to fiddle with save type because it's auto-detected...

Well, this does make alot more sense to me...but when I right-clicked on the no$gba, it doesn't say "extract" anywhere...though it does have that on the games I downloaded for it...(note:I have the n$gba and the games in my favorites folder is this makes a difference...) and I have the Windows vista. So, what exactly is it that I need to extract? I'm having the same problem. The best I've gotten is that if you download the Bios and firmware, it won't crash, but it'll show a black screen.Help ! I'm trying to play Rondo of Swords but it gives me an error and then it closes my emulator.

You'll have to right-click the file you downloaded and not no$gba, right-click the zipped folder (it's icon is a folder with a zip) and choose an option that is simmilair like extract or unpack or decompress or something (I hate eplaining menu commands that I have to translate from another language) you'll get a new window. Do the same as I said in the previous post and you can begin playing nds roms.Well, this does make alot more sense to me...but when I right-clicked on the no$gba, it doesn't say "extract" anywhere...though it does have that on the games I downloaded for it...(note:I have the n$gba and the games in my favorites folder is this makes a difference...) and I have the Windows vista. When I choose "extract all" on one of the game things, does so (I guess) but then it just takes me to yet another window showing a folder with just The game, and this site in it...what am I supposed to do here? Ok you're done with extracting the files, that new window that popped up was the contents of the .zip file that were now unzipped (just means it's decompressed). Just close it and run no$gba (just double-click no$gba) then a new window pops up called "insert cartridge" go to the folder to where you extracted the .zip file (it's next to the .zip file if you didn't change the folder where the extracted zip file goes to). And now you can play the game. When I choose "extract all" on one of the game things, does so (I guess) but then it just takes me to yet another window showing a folder with just The game, and this site in it...what am I supposed to do here? Click 'F11' and choose config / control on the top of the window, and set the controlIs there any way for me to configure the d pad on my controller to work with NO$GBA? It only lets me use the joysticks, and they're way too sensitive.

I don't know what the colours at ideas are, but if you want to change the colours of the emulator, then go to options --> emulation setup and look at GBA mode, change the setting and press ok, then you'll notice that the colour will change. Now you can set it to any colour scheme for the rom you like.ive been playing bomerman on the no$gba and ive noticed that the colour graphics are not as good as the IdeaS emulator. ideaS emu still has alot of bugs in it thou. My question is how do i get the colour on no$gba to match the graphics on ideaS? can it be done???

Um...it looks like one more problem occured...when I double clicked the "No_gba2.6a.rar", it brings up another window that says "Windows cannot open this file:File: No_gba2.6a.rarTo open this file, Windows needs to know what program you want to use to open it. Windows can go online to look it up automatically, or you can manually select from a list of programs that are installed on your computer. What do you want to do?O Use the Web service to find the correct programO Select a program from a list of installed programs"Thats exactly what it says...what am I supposed to do?Ok you're done with extracting the files, that new window that popped up was the contents of the .zip file that were now unzipped (just means it's decompressed). Just close it and run no$gba (just double-click no$gba) then a new window pops up called "insert cartridge" go to the folder to where you extracted the .zip file (it's next to the .zip file if you didn't change the folder where the extracted zip file goes to). And now you can play the game.
