which devil may cry game did you like the most? ive only ever played the 3rd one, probably should have played the first one first but whatever. anyway, which one was the best and can you think of any games that compare to it?

I liked the 3rd one best. Dante got pretty crazy with his stunts in that one 
Too bad he sobers up a bit in the later games. (timeline-wise I mean)

My faverite so far is good ol' number one. Three is good, but I don't think it has what it takes to be remembered or remain as popular as it is after DMC4 is released. I think most it's fame is due only to it being the most recent game in the series.]DMC3 is still a REALLY good game though.

The third Devil May Cry was the best game in the series. There was a wider selection in weapons to get. Overall, it was the better game.

My favorite Devil may cry game was number three by far, it was the fact that my favorite Dmc bosses are the ones that are of relative size, but whats better is u finally fought a boss with a devil triggergood old virgiland the weapons concept was awsomeand whats better i have this music video of some korean guy holding SSS with his combos for a whole 10 mins in 4 different styles Swordmaster, Gunslinger, Dopple ganger and royal guardUSING EVERY WEAPON IN THE GAME >.<Of course these 10 mins were comprised of his best combos with every combination of two weapons so i guess he has some time to practiceI borrowed the game originally but i would buy it just to attemp to get to his level

the first one was great, except for the overly melodramatic story, the second was boring and the new character very uninteresting, and the third one I thought was really tough....Im ashamed to say I rented it and didnt get past the ice cerebus at the beginning

both the first and the third are amazing games that didn't leave much to be desired ..... but STAY AWAY from the second one IMO. I dunno, it just didn't size up to its predecesor I think...it lacked that certain I-don't-know-what that made the first and third so freakin awesome

Devil May Cry 3 was awesome. Dante was all Crazy Go Nuts! Plus you gotta love a game that is basically one huge reference to the novel Dante's Inferno.
