Do you guys prefer to have a balanced team in terms of stats or 1 super strong character with all the stat enhancing items all pumped into this 1 character?

Balance is good, but once in a while, I like having fun with a super-powered character that beats all the other ones until something unexpected comes up.

The balanced team is best because many rpg“s have a slight problem with random targets and usually there“s a member of the team that gets trashed in the process! you can see that more when you are facing a boss because if your overgrowned char gets to be the target you can have problems with it because usually to enchant equip and experience only one char you forget about the others and if the overgrowned dies you are finished as easy as pie!

a balanced team will ensure that all party members are able to hold their own, which is far superior to depending soley on one party member for boss fights.

The balance is the best way and the safest way to the destiny. If you focus only one character with his own ability, you 'll have to face unknown event those ability are useless, but other chars couldn't help.Other, you'll have "COMBO" when you have a balanced team.

I prefer single player modes to party mode RPG's (a la Dragon Warrior)... I find the party to be cumbersome and I always tend to use one strong character anyway...

I like balancing my characters, but once in a while, I like to play favourites... But that doesn't happen until the other characters can kick some butt. X3

anyway.. since some rpgs force you to play as one of your other characters or splits your party into groups at some point in the storyline.. balancing out your party is not really a matter of choice but rather more of a necessity.. :P

Well, it seems like most players prefer to have a well balanced team. Thanks for the comments and reasons stated as well :P

id rather have a balanced team, cause if you only rely on 1 guy, what happens when he gets killed?

For me this depends on the game in some cases. For the most part, I really do like putting the power into 1-2 characters. Especially in games like Disgaea where that's easy to do. I make them so uber that the two characters can 1 hit just about any boss. Most other RPGs like Final Fantasy and whatnot I usually give a lot of my powerful stuff to one character and then let everything else trinkle down from there. So I guess most of the time I really do like to make one super character.

I balance my teams out between attack and defense. I personally perfer to have a high defense team and a moderate attack team. A mage is helpful but they die often and easily, a healer hybrid is always a plus. (by hybrid I mean a healer who is also a decent attack character. They can take a beating and heal the rest of the team and they can attribute to damage.) High attack is all good but only if you can take out the enemy quickly. If they damage you too much and your def. sucks you will die, In emergencies I ususally deploy my "berserker" tactic where I unleash holy H*** on my enemie in hopes of killing them before I die, ignore all healing and just attack with as much strength as I have left, and usually it works out in the end. like FF9 I had one character left and all my others were KO and had zombie on them so you couldn't revive with Phoenix down. I had freya (my last char) jump up for all her attacks and I beat it LOL. now that was luck.

Personally, iconcentrate on leveling one character. if the others gain power, that's good... :shifty: but i want to have one mega powered guy. ;) XD

A balanced imba team! o.O But generally, its best to balance out your team, as none of the characters are perfect most of the time.

I would prefer a balance team 'coz when you put all the strong items to this one characther can't be used for this certain mission you will have a hard time finishing the mission
