Wow thanks w/o this "Guide" I would've been totally clueless. 
I would've just sat there and look for a solution for hours....

Okay, I downloaded iDeaS, but when I tried to open it it said that the sound wasn't right. Anyone can help?

Did you get an error message? What did the error message say?What sound plugin are you using?Okay, I downloaded iDeaS, but when I tried to open it it said that the sound wasn't right. Anyone can help?

sound wasnt right eh? thats happening for me when im playing the world ends with you. the sound is totally messed up and im getting an error message but i can still play.Okay, I downloaded iDeaS, but when I tried to open it it said that the sound wasn't right. Anyone can help?

I've heard iDeaS can run FFIV DS but it just seems to crash for me, is there something I need to do to fix that?

rondo of swords doesnt work on no$ so i got the latest ideas cause its supposed to work on it but i havent seen any difference just that same black screen never changes do i have to do something special to work it?

There are graphical errors with the game but it seems to be playable.Edit:Provide a screenshot of what you are referring. Since the official site lists it as playable and members here have reported that it is playable.

i also had the erros with the sund plug-in so i disabled the sound befor loading the rom then normaly startet the rom klick new game etc end then after the the first pictures or text appeared i loade my savestate and it always worked without any problems ;)so 2 ways just use .25 oder when you try the new version disable the sound plugin before loading a rom ;)btw could some mod be able to update the pinned topic NDS Emulators Download cause there it says still UPDATE: 03/16/2008 | iDeaS 1.0.2.2so a new update would be nice cause then most user dont have to search for the ideas thread etc so the see new emulators are available

most roms that were 'unplayable' because they run too slow or had bad sound do play on the new ideas. However, the folks over at ideas still haven't been able to solve the sound problem; sound is still a bit messed up in some games ( in the more recent ones or those with beautiful audios e.g. most ff games, rondo of swords) the sound is VERY bad. You can still play the games if you want to; i would suggest you turn off the audio plugin BEFORE starting any game. Play your own music in the background like i do .I tried switching it off in game and sometimes it freezes. No matter what do not try switching it on and off whiles playing. IT WILL IMMEDIATELY FREEZE!! i don't know if this can play the world end yet, i'll get back to you guys later on that. For now, i'd say its the best emulator out there graphics wise; still 2nd to no$gba due to sound problems though.Hope this helps. Cheers

I got a problem with Rondo of swords it freezes when my characters move ( sometime i can debugg it by passing turns ) but it also freezes when its the ennemy turn ( when they kill one of my men ) what can i do then ??

Errors when I'm opening ideas:
My video card is Intel® Extreme Graphics 2 or something, if that helps, although I only have an audio plugin (aud.dll).

So, the Dragonball DS graphics glitch, can it be fixed? It shows some wierd rendering, and when you switch open GL 3d renderer there's some extreme lag.

theres a problem with the audio sound on all of my ROMs when i try it on iDEAS, i tried re downloading the plug in but it doesn't change at all, i also tried it with many other ROMs that said it had no problem on it, but it still had that annoying sound on it. Like a glitch, and Screeching sound of the audio. and i tried it on various computers from different years of manufacture like Me, XP, even on my Win32 Vista computer as well but it still had the same results... got any ideas?

The search function is currently disabled, so sorry, if I'm posting wrong.I'm using iDeas 1.0.2.8 under Linux (Ubuntu 8.10). I had problems with the Sound, which could be solved by using padsp from the pulseaudio-tools to wrap the OSS sound in my ALSA system. But now I really can't get Pokemon Diamond or Pearl to run at all. Other roms are running fine.Any ideas which options would be better adapted than the default ones for those two games?I've heard of other people were Pearl is running fine under SuSE.

The sound in iDeas is not the best. Even for windows, the sound is not the best.It might be better to turn the sound down on Linux.The Pokemon games work better on no$gba.
