They were big, those four AA batteries it needed made it annoying >.<, but the handhelds all use chargers now B)

I never saw the original Gameboy - only started noticing them when GBC was starting to be advertised...But I heard about the size...Yes they are handhelds, but they're too big to put in your pockets. ^^;

the reason the older ones are so big is because they didn't have the micro technology we have now.

I think the old gamboys are to big its so big you have to jump on each button to press it.

Nice game choice with the Pokemon selection I have to say. Although I'm not much of a Tetris fan myself.

I love my original game boy....i consider anything that can't fit in my pocket big....well, my og gb could fit in my pocket, so it was a decent size. God how I miss playing it, but I'm not going to waster 4 batteries to play it again lol

If you think the original GB was big, you should try playing the first Atari Lynx!Posted ImageThese things were nearly a foot long, and the first few made had some kind of alloy shells that weighed a good bit (but were pretty near indestructible!) The next generation Lynx looked the same but was made of a lighter plastic (the paint had a bad habit of wearing off that model) and then the smaller Lynx II was released about a year later. Still, I don't think there was ever a larger production handheld than the Atari Lynx. Great machine in its day, and a great design despite its size - you could actually flip it and the screen image if you were left-handed and wanted to play with your right hand on the + direction pad...

They weren't big when they first came out. Althought back then we still couldn't stuff them in our pockets.
