it doesn't matter, but i would pick the girl first to see what she looks like, and then restart with the boy.

I have picked a boy for every pokemon I played (blue, silver, sapphire), i recently saw the screenshots of the new pokemon, and seriously, the boy design is just so bad, even the mini walking sprite doesnt look good at all, guess im going for girl this time, I heard the character in the anime is the girl too.

I usually do that, i complete everything with the boy then do the same with the girl. I end up with the same team most of the time, hehehe...I would choose boy the first time around then a girl

You can pick in Red/Blue and Gold/Silver? I have both those and was pretty sure you had to be a boy in them both?Anyways, in Ruby/Sapphire I played as a boy and when I replayed the game later I picked the girl to see if anything was different (not that much was besides dialogue :/). I'll choose boy. The only time I've ever chosen a girl is when it was first introduced in Pokemon Crystal
