DDR is a classic, but Guitar Hero is like, more for 'everybody' as in they can just pick up and play it. A lot of people I know are to embarrassed to play DDR but think Guitar Hero is wicked fun

I have to say guitar hero for now because the songs that we can play are alot more famuliar and heck of alot better than DDR. But ddr songs are still good, but i wish they had more songs that are of other genres i guess thats how you would put it.

I'd go with guitar hero, even though i play both. I like playing songs i ACTUALLY KNOW while playing guitar hero, and the sweet guitar controler isn't half bad either ;-)

Guitar Hero by a long shot. You can really get into the music in GH because they are well known.

DDR, definately, i know its a pain to start out DDR, because mostly - the first time you hit the pad, you WILL suck...And that keeps alot of people from even trying - especially after seeing that dude AA'ing The Legend of Maxx in reverse+drunken+dark on 400 BPM...Guitar Hero seems much easier to pick up and is very fun...but for me DDR is just way more intense (and im not even THAT good, currently around Heavy 8feet - with some positive, and negative, exceptions).Btw, sss2, i think ur argument is appalling...thinking like that is entirely missing the point of any game - its about fun...Seriously, WHEN are you going to need ur 1337-Counterstrike-skills to take out the terrorists? Or what good are all those sweet magic spells/incantations/jutsu you learn in reality? Also, for those preferring to play 'actual' songs on DDR, there is such a thing as Bemanistyle, with a huge database of songs (jap, regular, etc.) - though i admit not everything is top-notch-quality, there are some real amusing ones around. Otherwise you can always try and find the Anime and Videogame mixes (there are 5 from both; also the Dutch animecons, for instance, have added 4 more anime-mixes to total on 9) these DO have good quality and are more familiar - at least amongst those who play/watch alot...Downside is that this only works for Stepmania, being on pc (easily solved with either a newer usb-pad, or a convertor)Also, i thought Guitarhero also was more fun with a big group, untill this weekend i encountered a sportgames-setup for DDR at one of the Dutch Animecons - meaning playing with 12 ppl at the same time, on the same screen (song/difficulty) :P :D :D

If you're going to try and compare DDR and Giutar hero you may as well throw in all those other music games. Drummania, Beatmania, etc...

Guitar Hero is about rock. DDR is about disco music. The answer is easy, DDR is for pussies. I mean, the only good thing about disco is that you can get laid, and that's why you forgive the crappy music, but DDR is about dancing to that crappy music at your house. So i guess DDR is how you spell lame in japanese.

DDR is good for exercising, but Guitar Hero, is kind of boring. I play real guitar and maybe I feel it is too simplistic...I dunno. I'd choose DDR are though. I played both of these games and DDR is still the one I am not good at.

I think DDR is better because it has a whole new concept to it and has helped soccer moms all over North America get rid of their tummies.
