I had an ati drivers disc explode. Only found a 3rd of the disc when I opened the tray. Haven't fished around for other bits but it still works fine so if it ain't broke don't fix it.

CD do not explode; they shatter to pieces. Anyway, yeah, one of mine did. It was called 'Emulator King', a cd with a collection of emulators of which my brother didn't use anymore. So, one day, it didn't load, so i started to... Kick the cpu. The CD inside broke to pieces as i ferociously kick it. I was pretty young that time, around 5-6. When i opened the CD drive, i found it shattered to pieces. Unluckily, some of it went deep inside, so the whole comp went spoilt. But luckily, that comp was really lame, and had no internet connection. I only used it for emulator king and documents.

It really is not good when one of your Fave CD or DVD Broke & it wasn't your fault. But then you thinnk that your life is just gone worse well if you do, your life is dependent on what you do & make out of it (life)

My favorite game for a while was Warcraft III TFT, and I played for LONG periods of time. Eventually, small scratches started appearing in the disk, but it still ran fine. Those scratches started to get bigger and bigger, yet it would still work. Eventually, one day I started playing, any put my beat-up copy of TFT into the drive and loaded it up, but then there was this odd sound of something jamming coming from the comp. I opened up the drive, and found my game had shattered into about 10-12 pieces.I spent a good hour fishing the pieces out that had lodged themselves into the back and sides of the drive. What I think happened was that the scratches finally broke through the other side, making hairline cracks in the disc, and the next time I put it in, the high speed of the drive spinning the disc caused the disc to break and fly apart, of balancing it and causing mor damage to the disc, causing more pieces to break apart.Has this every happened to you? If so, what CD?

ive never heard of a cd explodingPOINTS were deducted for this post by ShaiPlease refer to the forum rules to find out why your points were deducted.

havent experienced that yet,but it's expected when a cd or any medium alike will break when submitted to a high rotation and loses it's balance.

once i was taking out one of my favorite computer games from its case and it slipped out and landed on my leg. i quickly went to stop it with my hand before it hit the ground, instead i broke it in half as i hit it. I was so angry at myself, but three years later or so i looked up the game and bought it again. end of story.

i don't recall any cd's of mine break real bad, but i do kow of a funny event at one of my friend's party's. It was an "elmo's counting" something or other, and all these annoying kids show up and well... annoy us. So we purposely broke the CD, and told the parents that they broke it (omg its my 'favourite' elmo game, i 'loved' it hehe) and then there were just the 4 of us, playing multitap psone games hehe. a little slack, but hey they started it, all 28- something of them.and as for all of you, a cd doesn't actually explode, its just a term for breaking it (unless you put in the microwave on high for a minute.... THAT'S FUN! :gs: )

Those scratches started to get bigger and bigger, yet it would still work.OMG, That's the exact same thing that happened to me! One day, I was just playing along, and I hear this crack. I open the drive, and I see only 20% of the disc in the drive. I was horrified!

Yeah. It was the installation disc for my old printer.I put the CD in and it went ahead and did its thing. 2 minutes later it's asking me to put the disc in so I check it and there's the remains of my poor CD -_-"
