never really experienced it exploding it in cd drive. but a friend of my had it happen where it exploded into like a million pieces and took him all afternoon to take it out and clean it up. oh and dont ever microwave a cd.microwave + cd = small explosion + unwanted radiation (very bad i think it might give you like cancer so probably best not to do it). Dont try this at home kids.

I bent a CD (those advertisement CDs that they give out for free)..and it 'burst' into tiny fragments.. and they flew at my face.Lucky I was wearing glasses, else I might be blind now.Ah, the foolishness of my youth..

Good thing itunes has the import thing... (as do other programs now)Without that, maybe I'd have a few go kaboom. I listen to many of the same albums.

It happens easier on speedier drives, as gravity force increases insanely... 52x is 27,500rpm iIrc, it is a veeery fast speed... "At revolutions of about 200 metres per second, today's state-of-the-art lead-foot drives approach the speed of sound - 340 metres per second through air at room temperature - subjecting the spinning disc to a force 1500 times that of gravity, researchers have found."Quoted from: http://www.theage.com.au/Well, I did know they went fast, but not THAT fast... That's like... insane. :yawn:;

Sounds irresponsible... Very irresponsible.Well, reminds me of science class. I always ate the stuff we made. Up until we Made CuSo4... >_< Eat no more.Exploding CDs are scary, one of mine did it when I threw it on a door...
