if i still had a ps2 i would so be importing Fire Pro or KoTC from what ive heard and seen these games are far more superior (yet have a steeper learning curve) than the smackdown series

THat's what i plan on doing. For those that don't know, Fire Pro is a 2D wrestling game that has been kicking lots of donkey since the NES. Known for it's deep gameplay, amazing AI, huge roster(and i mean freaking huge), it's amazing CAW mode and for being the best simulation out there. When the company that made Fire Pro went out of business, a company by the name of Spike picked up the license. THey took whatever made Fire Pro so great, and put it in 3D and made King of the Colliseum. It has everything that made Fire Pro so great, but now with even more people. Now, soon, Spike will make a new Fire Pro that is sure to kick this game's donkey. ALso they are making an online wrestling game for the DS which will no doubt be a Fire PRo game

I Dunno About Hassan.. But i think that even thoug Cena has a crappy finisher, he still is one of the best champs smackdown ever had. He is way better that that FREAK "JBL". I just cant wait to see the roster list, because i hope for more of the legendary wrestlers. If there is one thing i hate about SvR its that Hulk Hogan aint in it. And the matches, we need the real matches, not the crappy slobberknocker but the casket and ambulance matches. we need more weapons than just chair, table, ladder, sledgehammer and belt. its just not fun when you have beaten your opponent with a chair the last three matches..

How dare you insult the WWE belt with Cena is one of the best champs. Don't ever post in a wrestling thread again mark. Back on topic, i found a vid for the PSP version of the game, which will be an inferior port, so might as well show it here, and guess what, once again, no new animations. See, it's all about pretty graphics. http://media.psp.ign...133/vids_1.html

I just hope they have a very closely updated roster for the game (within 2 months of the games released date if possible). It seems like everytime a wwe game comes out, its already got 10 people (or more) that are already gone from the wwe when the specific game becomes available to the public.

I just hope this one has a good online mode. They're adding in some stamina now and they have slowly been adding in some slightly more realistic things each year. The engine is playable, so if they have a good online component setup, I'm getting it for sure because that's really the only thing I care about. I have King of Colosseum II and have pre-ordered Fire ProWrestling Returns already for my simulation wrestling needs, but KoC II and FPW R (at least to my knowledge on the latter) don't have online, so that's where SmackDown vs Raw 2006 needs to excell in order for me to pick it up.And thievingmexican24, you have to lighten up a bit. Anyone that likes wrestling as much as you seem to should realize the skill Cena has. He can entertain a crowd by not doing a damn thing...that's skill. While it might not be as entertaining as a match featuring Toshiaki Kawada, Mitsuharu Misawa, Kenta Kobashi, KENTA, Jushin "Thunder" Lyger, CM Punk, Samoa Joe, Ric Flair, Kurt Angle, Triple H (despite everything the internet hates him for, he still manages to make everyone that gets in the ring with him ten times better), Bret Hart, Eddie Guerrero, ect to people who follow wrestling more and appreciate it more for other aspects other than the WWE's bells and whistles soap opera style, John Cena is doing his job damn well, and it's not to put on 5 star classics, it's to entertain and push merchandise.

i saw a review of the played game so far, and the it looks great. the graphics are awesome and the new matches and aspects of the game make the game probably the best smackdown game so far.

Well, The confirmed roster is this Batista Carlito Caribbean CoolChris Benoit ChristianEddie Guerrero EdgeJBL John CenaKane Kurt AngleRandy Orton Rey MysterioShelton Benjamin Triple HThe Undertakerand only 1 new match type which is effectivly two. Buried Alive/ Casket match. But before you are dissapointed, The Bra and Panties match has been changed to be a Fulfill Your Fantasy match, letting you use the multiple outfits for the Divas. And there is also the Backstage Brawl Event which is a new version of the Parking Lot Brawl. One awesome thing with the Backstage Brawl Event is the Staff Members walking around doing there rounds which you can attack and get involved into the match. That is all.

This game is jam-packed with up to three minute entrances, motion captured moves, and 40-50% more polygons than last years game. Plus if you go on www.ign.com and see the pics of the game...try to remember this...the game is in it's EARLIEST stage yet the graphics are better than DOR2 :P Wow!

OMG, what happend to Yuke's. Did the few AKI workers who work for them take over the company? It seems like after 3 bad games (SVR, SD2 and SD1), one awful game (SD3), one decent (SD5) and one almost good (SD4) they are going to make their first good Smackdown game.I am usually really sceptical if it comes to Smackdown news but this time even I got impressed. If they keep their promises and Punk makes it into the game(that's almost more important than keeping the promises) it's going to be good. I cant wait for having many Punk vs. Cena matches. Man, I am going to beat the hell out of Cena XD

OOH, I like the new re-animated moves you mentioned, because I remember all the moves' animations and they always look the same.

Yeah, since the first Smackdown on the PSone. That's awesome. Yuke's should get a special reclying price for that. I dont think any developer did something like that before.

So the graphics are shiny. Who cares? I want season mode details now and i want to hear if they changed the grappling system up. I know they did in DoR2. I still don't seen anything that makes me want to buy SvR2006.

There are a few nice things:- lower gamespeed (finally it's not Speedsmackdown anymore)- up to 3 counters in a row(A nice addition, but still they should use the system of WMXXI. Even if the game was not really good, the countering system was the most realistic out there)- Stamina System. Games like Fire Pro got that since years, finally it's coming to the Smackdown-Series- This time we will get at least 2 years of season mode without repeating + some chars have a season mode, too (they already said that for HCTP and SVR...let's see if it will be included this time)
