a random guess different from those already made... although their answer is probably better.Dumbledore says that we fear the unknown. As most people can't see them, the ones who can see them, and know they exist are... Weird, by similar logic. So people decide it is unlucky. That way, they don't care that they can't see them.

I really don't like Harry Potter but a quiz is a quiz. Bathilda Bagshot was the authour of A History in Magic.
