When I was a kid I kinda cried when I finished StarTropic. Not because the ending was sad but because it was the first game I bought and the first game I finished all by myself.

No game has made me emotional enough cry yet, but Resident Evil 2 scared the hell out of me the first time I played it.

I don't think a game has ever made me cry...... the ones that came closest were the Final fantasy series ones, especially VI, VII and X.... because I didn't want them to end! Lol. After spending over 100 hours on each, you've got that connection to the story...and to the couch. Maybe also Mario 1 when I was a kid because it was way too hard for me...

I believe it all depends on how enthralled with the story one becomes. Things like Big Boss standing at the grave of the boss with the music, and the voiceover make for a real tearjerker...espicially if you've played the game solidly. However, the big one for me was the FFX ending. After fighting solidly through the last battles, and they break down in each other's arms....one again the music, and yuna whispering how she feels, makes for a lethal combination. It was something that kind of annoyed me about FFX-2. Blatant fan service really made that feeling hollow. It's not a shameful thing to cry at the end of a story, for it only shows a stronger sense of empathy, and rather than the old gender based sterotypes, possibly makes you a stronger person for being able to become so intertwined in the story, feel the emotions, and then be brave enough to let your emotions flow. That degree of emotional attachment to the storyline of the game itself only adds to the experience, and not in a negative way....So dont be afraid, let yourself go a bit wink.gif

Why cry? That's for wimps. There's nothing to cry about since you're not living that kind of life.

As a guy and a person who understands the difference between video games and reality, video games can not make me cry. Sure I might sympathize with the main character and feel sorta sad when something sad happens in the game... But I don't cry.I've never really had a game that has come close, either...

Well I think it's great if a game can make you cry, coz that means that it was good. I haven't felt that sad over a game tho. Most end nicely XD

I cried at the end of the first legend of zelda games for nintendo 64. The ending just really touched me along with the background.

Is nearly crying counted as Yes? If so then twice - MGS3 when Snake is visiting the Boss's grave in the last cutscene and in MGS2 when I realised I would have to play as Raiden and Snake wasnt coming back. GOD I HATE RAIDEN! lol

Honestly if you cry because of a game, you're really into it and it's become a part of your life, which one means you're girlfriend is pissed at you because you play too much, and two, you have a nice sesitive side. I personally have not cried because of a game, but movies, yes, a select few.
