Whenever I'm looking for a GBA game(or any other game), I usually look for screenshots of the battle system to see if it's worth playing. Here are the battle systems in order according to my preference(from best to least).Real Time Action RPG (You can move around and attack anytime you want. No taking turns. Example:Summon Night Swordcraft Story)Real Time Strategy (You take turns depending on your character's speed.Fastest goes first. Example: Final Fantasy Tactics Advance)Turn Based Strategy (You and your opponent take turns in moving/attacking. You move all your characters then he moves all his characters then you move all your characters and so on... Example: Fire Emblem, Super Robot Taisen)Turn Based Action RPG (Same as Turn Based Strategy but without the strategy. Instead it's an RPG. Example: Pokemon)Others (Other types of battle systems I haven't mentioned.)

Mine would be Real Time Action RPG + Turn Based Action RPG. Both together at once. At a field, I'll be able to move my characters around. Whenever I meet foes, I must set my characters to attack the foe and I must wait for the bar to fill up before attacking. Additional status will either aid my characters or the other way round. Yup, the only RPG I know with this battle system would be FF XII though it's frm PS2.

I'd have to go with turn based strategy. I love games like Fire Emblem that make you plan ahead and think about your next moves before you ever make them. This is some real strategy, and it takes quite a bit of thinking on your own part to be successful.->TPrime

Going with the Real Time. Summon Knight was a great game too, but sometimes that type of gameplay makes it easier to get lost or stuck.

Turn Based Strategy, especially in space. This is my favorite type of battle system.

Darkness infiltrates the light
_Have you seen the sun?
Have you seen the sunset?
It is the sun that runs
_The darkness is instant
But in the morning light prevails
_And a new day begins

When you download, platform-specific DPs are used first.
DPs can be spent by using some platform-specific DPs and some global DPs.
That took a load off your chest, didn't it?

I've always liked the ATB system in the Final Fantasy console games. I can't say I've played many RPGs on GBA, but I think that that system would work just as well.

If it isn't obvious, my fav combat system of any GBA game is the Summon Night series.

Real Time Action RPG, you get that zingy feeling of accomplishment after you've attacked at JUST the right time to deal extra damage just to jump back and flawlessly guard another attack...
