Mixture of both, because both are very important for the game.

Me favoring story over realistic graphics is one of the reasons I play nintendo games. I find theese games much more entertaining than the quite realistic, but quite boring car-related games on PlayStation.

I'm a fan of story in games, with a great story the games it's almost a priori awesome... but there are some games that can have great stories but have such a bad gameplay that you wanna kill yourself, there are games that are exactly the opposit... Anyway i like a game with whoop ass story, great gameplay, and the graphics can be bad or good i don't mind...

The story line is more important than the graphics in an RPG game, but a mixture would be nicer...

it is not a real game if it does not have a good reasonable story so graphics doesnt really matter you can play a game with graphics that looked like things were filmed on the spot and get bored of it in a few hours or get a game with a good story and play it for a month

Hoho THis is quite funny graphics vs story well todays gaming society graphics, stories, game settings, type of gaming as this post stated RPG,music and surroundings and many other all of this is packed into a thing that u call "OVERALL" ever heard this b4? if nt i suggest u dont have the right to comment this topic this is supposed to come back to each other bcoz if graphic is gre8 especially NOWDAYS GRAPHIC LIKE FOR REAL! but lack of story line can u accept this ? or story line so gre8 until it influence your life huhu but the graphic is poor you would complain about the other way right? overall graphic n story plays an important role with their own specialty. -@o@-

For an RPG? Story. Has to be story. There have been tons of sprite RPGs that are legendary because of story. Though, graphics ARE really nice. But story is more important.

Definetly the story, but this goes for ALL kinds of games, not just RPGs.

For me, the story is more important. The graphics are nice to look at and all, but the story is the reason I go back to the many games I play.

its a mix for me cuz even if the story is really good but the graphics sucked i wouldnt want to play anymore and vice versa thats why i think it would be better if they were both just good instead of one being super good and the other being super bad

Definetly a mix. They work to balance the game out hand in hand.

Obviously as time and time again has shown us, graphics do NOT make the game, although with good graphics it helps immerse you a bit better. The driving force behind an RPG is its story, hands down, no questions asked.

I think both are important, but the I put more emphasize on the story, it is what is going to keep me interested in the game. Graphics only have to look good and not too bland, but not too much either so that isn't the only thing the game has going for it.

I tend to lean more towards the story option. While graphics can make a game seem attractive, it's not always a good thing to rely on. Incredible graphics don't always mean the story will be any good, and it may even cover for the fact that the game is a little too short. If anything, a mixture is the best option.

There has to be a mixture of both, even if RPGs rely more on the plot. I wouldn't want the graphics to be horrible to the point where I wouldn't be able to look at them, or play them. At the same time, I wouldn't want the story to be too cheesy, making me want to never touch it again.

STORY!Graphics is mainly just how clarified your pixels are. All the same thing!I'd rather play good old FF1 to the new "super-dooper" latest games. They're not fantastic - just the old games with differently presented pixels.

Definitely Story, just look at FF7, it's graphics aren't anything to drool over, yet tons of people still play it.

OOoh, definitely story. DnD wouldn`t be the wonderful thing that it is if graphics were really that important. Then again, after a mind-numbing day, playing a game with no story would probably be better.

I believe it should have each in equal amounts to make the whole thing interesting and appealing.
