I think that you kinda need both because if you had great graphics, but no story, the game would sink. Vice Versa.

Graphics have never been an issue for me, I prefer the storyline to be good. The graphics just have to be good enough so that I can tell what's going on.

A mixture of both is nice, but if I had to choose, I'd say story.

I think both as well, but if I had to choose one better then the other, it would be story, because lovely graphics are great and all, but how are you going to appreciate them with a boring story that you don't care enough for to even bother playing the game?

its good ta have good graphics if u hav a bad storyline then the game gets real dull and boring. Star wars KOTOR and Jade empire are the best oh and fable

I'd like some big flashy opening to get me interested in the game, but what matters in the end for an rpg is strong gameplay and a compelling story. The graphics don't bother me so much as long as they don't look like they were drawn by a child (an untalented child )

I would argue that, next to story, having a clear and easy to use interface for gameplay is extremely important. My biggest beef against Dragon Warrior was that you had to go through a menu to do everything. Want to talk? Hit "B" and select talk. Want to walk up some stairs? Hit "B" and select stairs. A horrible, horrible idea.

Lots of GBA games have pretty poor graphics, but the story just makes me want to keep playing until the end.

I think the story is better because im that type of person...thats why im a retro gamer...I dont care about graphics..but the only game with graphics i care about are those polygon games on the sega and other ones but im still into the storys of games...but dont get me wrong...graphics are good and can make a game much more enjoyable!

I love the current graphics, but they need to get back to doing better story-lines. If the story is boring then you don't want to play.

I choosed Story, of course. What kind of player would love a game with no story and high graphics?

Definitely story. Who's going to go through an entire game hating the characters and story as long as there's pretty graphics?Other than a shallow person that is.

both help make a game sucsessful, but the first thing any person would notice are the graphics.if it doesnt look good, then people wont get drawn in as easily.but in terms of overall priority, story is better, because, not matter how good a game looks, without a good story its just pointless(at least for rpg's-not all games need plots to be good)

Like what almost everybody says, a mixture is best. For reasons that most state which is "if the graphics suck but it has a good story, i won't play or vice versa." But if I had to choose one, story is best. (The GBA has crappy graphics but we still play it, right?)

it has to be mixture. If it's a decent storyline but the graphics are so horrible you can't even see them, what's the point of the game??

Story and voice acting (if any) mean more to me than graphics, although graphics can be icing on the cake =]
