Story is more important, I mean some polls debate against games that are old and used to be liked against the newer ones with better graphix, but I say story is what makes a RPG very good

RPGs are based on storylines.I surely is the most important aspect then.No storyline = No RPGs (at least good ones)

I would really have to say that only the story matters to me because I've gotten so used to a gay computer that i don't really care much for the graphics. The story on the other hand has to be good or else i'll just get bored and go play a game that has a way better story line.Let the Dragon ride again on the Winds of Time...

I think it's possible for bost to exist. Companies just need to take their time instead of rushing to get the game out ASAP. Gamers will wait for them if it means creating a superior product.

I think both story and graphics are important for a game, although I don't usually know what a good storyline or a bad storyline is.

I say story. Graphics are great, but, in my opinion, the whole point of a role playing game is that it has an immersive and enjoyable story. Although I admit that I picked up Okami because of the graphics, game mechanics, and the fact that you play as a wolf (wolves are cool) without knowing much about the story. >.<

I put mixture. Reason being that while story is insanely important, if the view of that story makes you want to gouge your eyes out, chances are you won't finish it to the end. >.<

More story than graphics, because the story is what makes the game memorable. Look at Chrono Triger, 2d graphics but listed as almost every gamer's favourite game.

Both of them would make a good game, with out graphics, we will judge it by it's cover, without a story, it would be boring. So we need both.

It's hard to say just one or the other makes a good game. It's easy to say something like "Dragon Warrior IV/FF6/Chrono Trigger has crappy graphics but the game's all about story" or similar, but those games had cutting edge graphics for the time. So ... a mixture of the two make a good game. A better question should be "What makes a game more enjoyable? Interface, graphics, or story?"

story is more important for me, graphics come later. for example, persona was not really great in graphics, but i still loved the game due to the story
