I think I can empathize with Astrozombies on this one. It's not that the PS3's graphics suck outright, I think it's just that they aren't worth anywhere near $600. Sure, the graphics are impressive, but are you impressed enough to spend that much money on them? If so, can you please loan me some of that money that is clearly burning holes in your pockets?Graphics on the PS3 are very detailed and impressive and realistic... and that's the problem. Where's the style, the panache, the creativity, the fun? 90% of PS3 games aspire to realism, and that's just one visual style. It gets old pretty quick, especially considering that you see realism every time you stop looking at your TV/monitor and look at... well, anything else in your life. I'm an oldschool gamer, and I grew up playing quirky, cartoony games, and I miss that about modern gaming. That's why I dig on Nintendo; it's 'cause they've got such a variety of gameplay and graphical styles. That and the Wii doesn't cost more than my bi-annual car insurance payment.

At 1080p playing Marvel Ultimate:Alliance at a friends place,i cry over how bad the frame rate is.And also the washed out textures.Plus the lighting is terrible in tony hawk. What do u expect from a console which uses a great processor of today(but is bandwidth starved) and graphics processor of yesterday(geforce 7900 gtx=RSX)

yes, they are. They may not seem as good on the computer because of the high definition gaming seen only on tv

^ thats doubtfull as almost any half descent pc matches or goes beyond the PS3s graphics. I can't comment because my pc sucks completely, but my friends have pc's who run with 2 next gen of graphics cards.

In the future once the graphics have improved on the PS3, because the launch titles are always bad compared to what the console is capable of, it will have the highest graphics of any consol by far

You have to remember the games are intended to be played on HD televisions, so when you play on an ordinary television, of course games won't look as good. Given the right set up, I've seen PS3 games that looks well beyond xbox360 and *cough* WII's best.

well the system just came out and as it is out for a long time the programmers will get used to using the systems graphics and be able to make games with better grapphics than now.

I think that the graphics are better... it depends on the games you play for it.

xbox 360 is using HD technology which has been around awhile and is just now being applied to gaming. The Ps3 is using Blu-Ray which is brand new with this being said microsoft already have the upper hand on the technology being used for their respective next gen consoles. half of the highly anticipated games will be comming out on both systems virtual fighter 5 is already out and Assassin's Creed is next out to be release on both systems.

People were telling me that the graphics for the PS3 were supposed to be so good that the people in the games were going to look like real people like on tv or something instead of video games. Its not quite that good, but still pretty cool though. It is a big improvement

hahaha i just read the 1st post and some one there was saying that a Wii game had better grapices that the PS3. if you take a look at GTA 4 or MGS 4 then you will see what the graphics of the PS3 games are like and they are likly to improve over time. like PS1 (take a look at FF7 and FF9) and PS2 graphics did.AsrarQ

we can't expect the graphic to be super cool...because we are not the producers....it's not the PS3's fault if the producer can't get the graphic going early on....some how i have a feeling that the PS3 true graphics are being held back by the damn PRODUCERS

The first game are never the ones with the best graphics. Think about ff7 compared to ff9. The difference in graphics is breathtaking and its on the same console. The same could quite possibly happen for the ps3
