dunno, maybe, i guess when the PS2 came out the games werent selling 2 fast and the ps1 games kept coming out. But when the ps2 became more affordable people stopped buying ps1 games, so i guess ps2 may become obselete sooner or later

If the companies feel they can earn enough by making games for PS3, they'll stop making PS2 ones. If not, they'll continue. That's what I think, it's all about money. =D

no thelike gba they still more gba games.so i think there will be more ps2 game and have same as ps3 but gaphics and story are different

PS One actually didn't stop to make games until two years ago that's why I feel that PS 2 will contintue to make games regardless of PS3 or other new consoles until the price begins to fall. Btw, Final Fantasy Origins released in America three years ago.

If you think about it 2006 was a really good year for ps2 (Okami, ff12, mgs3 sub) and it will have a good year in 2007 to (rogue galaxy) so i think that sony still makes a lot of money out of the ps2 so as long as they make money ps2 will have new games coming out for it.

I sure hope they won't. Or if they do at least bring down the price of the PS3 otherwise poor old me won't be able to play any of the new games. I'm pretty sure they will stop produciton of the PS2 games because all they care about is the money.

The PS3 is not looking like it's going to take nearly as much of the market share as the PS2 did this past generation, and actually right now the PS2 is way more profitable for Sony than the PS3 is (it tops everything actually, including all the next-gen systems combined). You can bet that the supply of PS2 games is not going to dry up anytime soon, though there will likely be more niche games and imports from Japan and fewer big-name things as time goes on.Sony has stated that they intend to keep the PS2 as an active system until it's at least 10 years old. So 2010 is the likely cut-off date, unless they're lying about that. And if they're lying, they'll recieve no more support from me ever again.

I dont think sony will stop selling games because a lot of people probably keep their PS2 until the prices drop on the PS3 so I dont think they will stop making PS2 games

Ps2 games are still being realeased right now. Furthermore not everyone has a PS3 yet. PPL have to wait for the next shipment to come in and some ppl can't afford it.

By the end of 2008 i bet PS2 games will slowly stop being made. Great PS2 games are coming out next year like God of War II

They will, eventually, stop making games for the PS2, and XBOX. However, gaming companies aren't stupid, and they can't just cut the PS2 crowd off in the beginning. They'd be losing out on a lot of money that way. People with less money can't afford the PS3 right now. Plus if a game is "good enough" the PS3 crowd might jump out and get it as well. The 360's been out for a year, and they're still making games that sell for $50 for the XBOX. So will they stop making games? Unquestionably. But it would be stupid to do it right now.

Ps2 games will still keep coming for 2 years at the very least.developers know that the ps2 market is BIG. so they wont jump to the ps3 immediately.the only reason we ran out of ps1 games after the ps2 came out was because the ps1 was already (more or less) dead.
