yeah they will stop making the ps2 games because eventually the ps3 price will go down and people will buy it and there will be no more ps2.

Yet, PS2 has proven itself far and wide so they will continue to exploit it for a while IMO... also, considering the acceptance and price of the ps3, ps2 seems to have a better future right now

Thats why they are making the PS3 so they could sell it and get rid of PS2 games so i'd say yes the PS2 will stop making gamesSorry i faught i havn't done this topic

I'd give the PS2 at least another year (or 2) before they stop making games for it. Theres still some life left in that system.

They Better not, I just bought my PS2 last year!! like, last summer. I mean, not a lot of people can buy a ps3, come on. it's like $700.00 and the games are like ten to twenty dollars more than the ps2 games(i'm not sure about this, i havent looked at the price range yet..just guessing), sure they have great graphics and everything but they should also consider their sales....okay, let me say this in a much better way... 1- most population cannot afford that much money (unless you're a hard core gamer) 2- if most population cannot afford the ps3, but they have a ps2, they would tend to buy ps2 games... 3- I think the company should keep producing ps2 games until it is secure for players to afford a ps3 4- so, if they do it that way, and slowly cut off ps2 games, it would still be fine... the constant flow of gamers will still buy...but if they suddenly cut off ps2, then...sure a trickle of income will come in, but cuttinng off ps2 completely is big mistake...due to the affording issue. but eventually, they would stop making ps2 games, i just hope not this year...since i just bought mine. waah, besides, i think the company knows what they're doing so i think ps2 will still be with us for a while...until we can afford a ps3 that is. GO BOXING DAY!

Eventually they will, since the release of the PS3 and everything. They'll probably make PS2 games for maybe a year more? I'm just guessing. But the thing is the PS3 is brand new (and REALLY expensive), so stopping the production of PS2 games will hurt business, since (I think) most people haven't gotten ahold of a PS3 yet, and probably won't for a while.

mostly likely not, hte ps2 has pretty good grapghics adn if cheap now. lots of great games out and ps3 is too expensive as of now

sadly they will stop because when thing get outdated they are'nt used anymore e.g do you change channel of t.v with your hands just like that newer thing are coming

eventually it will.... for those who lasted through the fall of ps1 would know whatever happened to outdated consoles.... they wont stop now... because the market for ps3 is still small

I'm pretty sure that they'll stop making PS2 games by summer or more likely by 2008, because that's when PS3 will have all of it's best games out.

Well I think they'll stop making them maybe in the year 2010 (estimate) because the PS2 still has a wide populace of gamers world-wide. But personally, I don't want to see the PS2 games stop going in to production but i'll be getting a PS3 nonetheless so if they do, I will not be to down-in-the-dumps. Oh and something I forgot to mention, the PS3 is backwards compatible, meaning it can play games from previous consoles (PS1/PS2) so PS2 games should be staying for a long while yet.

Eventually... Its like every game counsel. PS1 stopped because of PS2, PS2 will stop because of PS3...and so on.

The playstation 2 game supply will, without a doubt, slowly peter out out then die. It may not be quick but they will stop making ps2 games before 3 years of the ps3s release. It may not be what you want to happen but eventually it will. I mean, when was the last time you went out and bought a new psx game?.

of course, as time grows on, and people want more and more new games and forget the old, sony will be forced to go with the consumers, and eventually stop with the ps2 games, but not to worry, the ps2 isnt gonna go out of style for at least a year or two...
