They'll stop making them eventually, sure. But how long will that take? I mean, the PS2 is still doing really well. I know I'd buy good PS2 games when they come out; hell, there are some new ones out soon I'm looking into. Plus, IMO the PS3 is ridiculous. I won't buy it unless I get hit with a mountain of reasons to, and so far Sony isn't doing too good a job piling them on, y'know? Thus, I think the PS2 will live for at least a year or two more.

Evantually, of course, it's one of two reasons.1) The PS3 will become cheaper and with more games.2) Sony will die, causing Nintendo rule the market.Yet it will take awhile.Playstation 2 is a GREAT console, with pretty good graphics and good games. (Gotta love Burnout 3 <3)I don't see the point in not making games to it.(And the fact most of the pepole who own a console have PS2, yea?)

Considering that the PS3 would cost a lot to manufacture, it is likely they'll keep making PS2 games until they got enough supply for demands, thus the price will get cheaper. Technically, the PS2 is the one of the things that's been giving Sony all the money they needed.

I have a feeling a lot of companies aren't up to the PS3 challenge yet. They'd require better (thus more costly) technology and more effort to make, and I doubt PS3 game sales will be better than PS2 game sales until they lower the price a notch.

Now that the PS3 is out PS2 has become "outdated", or so the lady at Game Zone told me, when I was there looking for an adapter. So you cant them fixed up anymore...as far as games go, I think they'll probably keep them in circulation for a while longer, at least.

Its obvious that Sony will stop making games for the Playstation 2 because of the PS3's release.

they wont stop releasing PS2 games cuz now there are many ppl out there using ps2 rather than ps3. ps3 is still very expensive at the moment, so i think they will use this chance to make more games for ps2 then when ppl strats to have ps3 they will concenrate all on ps3.

They will eventually, but not anytime soon. The PS3 isn't popular enough, considering the fact that it costs way too much. I think, maybe, in a few years they might, but not anytime in the near future.

they will stop simply for two reasons: ps2 is old and all the good games for it have already been made

I call it inevitable in any system's case when it comes to game production. There's going to be a time when support for a system completely dies. The Dreamcast in the U.S. pretty much died a few years ago, while in Japan, it's slowly going through it's suffering phase as there were three more SHMUPs released for it earlier in the year, but I doubt that it'll continue now with the rumor of Sega cutting off production of GD-ROMs. Well, we'll see. If it dies in the U.S., there's a sure chance of games still being released in Japan for a few years more.
