Ohhh the locap plant. It apparently stabilizes the plasma with its digestive juices which allows for the result of this digestion to be harvested by the Gungans. This was made more difficult by the sharp teeth and the fact that they close if the plant senses any pressure being applied to the buds.

Just curious, but is the blue plasmic goo really the same stuff that's in the force fields of Otoh Gunga? I'm assuming the blue plasmic goo stuff you are talking about are those round blue balls that they throw at battle droids and stuff. I thought the bubbles in the city were just projected force fields that could be turned on and off (Jar Jar did it once).The Wookiepedia articles on both plasma and Hydrostatic bubbles aren't exactly clear about this, so I was just curious if someone that has actually read the original source material knows if they are the same or not.

This one is the story that Palpatine tells Anakin during the Revenge of the Sith movie. The person you are referring to is Darth Plagueis, who was able to change life and death because he could influence midi-chlorians in ways others could not. It was actually Palpatine (aka Sidious) who killed Plagueis himself, since he feared that his master would create a new more powerful apprentice who would be better than him. So he murdered his master while he was sleeping.
