Son, you may be an Console RPG freak, but you're not a full-fledged RPG veteran.I would suggest finding stuff like Ultima, Dungeon Master and the likes before even suggesting ANYTHING about roleplaying games. Star Ocean? Legend of Dragoon? Final Fantasy? They're adventure games.Honetly, FFVIII was my "real" video game i actually played...i got it on PC version first but later i got it for the PSX...man the PSX graphic sucks...anyways i've always been a FF fan ever since and thats how i got sucked into role-playing games...some of my favorite (other) RPG includes Star Ocean: TtEoT (PS2), Legend of Dragoon, and many other titles....How about you, are you an RPG addict like me?

Well, people have their own definitions about what an RPG is these days. To me it's a game where you can actually roleplay, and today I happen to think there's a severe lack of just that sort of thing. But yes, people should make up their definitions themselves. Personally I never find any roleplaying in the Final Fantasies or games like it. You go with the flow, really. You rarely make any choices yourself. It's a lot of great storytelling to be found, but sadly it's not much roleplaying. In my opinion.I wouldn't consider them adventure games, Locue. But each to their own, I guess.
The first RPG I ever played was probably Wasteland, and I also love it after all these years. I encourage everyone who likes a really challenging game to try it out.The first real RPG I can remember playing would be... Diablo II. And I still love it.
