NO. Think again and again. The answer is very easy.No. Still not correct. It is a tricky question,Way to contradict yourself. Anyway I'll waste the last try at this.Eragon couldn't defeat Murtagh in the Burning Plains battle (if this is what you are talking about) because he was TIRED. If Murtagh came earlier Eragon could've beaten Murtagh with his elf powers/abilities/strength. Also since Saphira was tired Eragon shared that as well. Can't wait to see what kind of ridiculous answer you had in mind :)

Is it because Murtagh told Eragon that Morzan was his father & then Eragon couldn't kill his own brother.

Well.......... ofcourse because Murtagh was stronger than him. B)Murtagh was under the direct teaching of the most powerful Dragon Rider - King Galbatorix himself . Galbatorix was very powerful & knew means of making energy from nothing , which is the main requirment of casting magic.

Galbatirix taught Murtagh Secrets of magic and powerful spells that elves never even dared to utter. He taught him Words in the ancient language that were lost until he discovered them, way to manipulate energy and secrets thatcould help murtagh to destroy his enemies and fulfill all his desires

The answer was the above quotes compiled with this : http://en.wikipedia......ance_trilogy)There were certain words I was looking for such as :Dark Magic, Eragon's incomplete training,They both equalled in their technique,Saphira was a female dragon while Thorn a male. Thorn was given training from his birth while Saphira long afterwards. Although that doesn't matters much.AND if you want a ridiculus answer : Because Christopher wrote it that way. He had to put Solembum's advice in Book 3 Someway or other. The Rules :- Answer in full sentences- Answer the latest question on the last page- Don't answer if the correct answer has already been given unless you want to give some additional information.- Don't spam.Q. 34 What were Solembum's word of advice in Book I.(2 point)Scoreboard :Gabbo : 17Mosthunted : 16.5aman27deep : 9Nightmare !!! : 8gamer4eva418 : 7.5FlamingDragon : 5Shinjo825 : 5Justindav15 : 2Perry0123 : 2Crusnik 02 : 2Misea : 2689 : 1RaghavK : 0.5magic368 : 0.5 Seashairo : 0.5

When Murtagh told him that it is right only for the elder son to inherit his father's sword not the younger, meaning Eragon was Murtagh's son

Ahh, I hadn't realized you wanted us to solve the riddle. Eragon discovers that the Varden are to battle, I believe, and he prepares to leave. And then he asks Oromis why the elves are not joining the battle, and Oromis says that they are and that Eragon has been unfocused or whatnot. Eragon realizes he's been blind as a bat to the world around him.
