For the story. A really good story has a lot of depth to the characters.Of that and the combat.

Uhm because of the story sometimes even though you know its a cliche story you get sucked in anywaythe battles I love to see my characters come back and easily win from a weaker monsterthe character development and interactionbut mostly the THE STORY

The story plays a big part, without a good story you just lose all interest in the characters and you don't feel like continueing with the game. But the game play is also really addictive, there's always some item or bonus to be gotten. Sometimes you don't find out till later and then you have to replay the whole thing....Which is why I'm now starting FFX-2 for the fourth time :shifty:

It depends on me. The story ofcourse, aslong if it's good. But for others it's the world you get into. Golden Sun for instance I find very intresting and that's mostly because of the big world. To bad the monsters get repetitive

Well, first of all because I enjoy Seeing my characters grow stronger.Second place takes the challenge. Almost every RPG has some really wicked monster or two , stronger than all other bosses combined, you can basically ignore and continue with the story. Killing those is what I get the most fun out of, especially if its been an incredibly hard fight. E.g: Fighting the golden Omega-Weapon in FFX (the last Monster in the Monster-Ranch) was such a fight. Or already the dark Bestias for starters. Then comes the story. You just don't get a proper Story from an Ego-Shooter or some Sportsgame. Finally its the type of storylinehaving game with the most freedom in your action (in most cases at least).Oh, and there are some incredibly funny ones out there (e.g.: Tales of Phantasia, Disgaea 1+2).

The stories are cool sometimes, but seriously, I play RPGs because the gameplay usually makes me think harder, unlike in shooters, where it's impulse mostly. I like strategy RPGs for this, and when I play most other RPGs, I usually make an effort to stay underleveled so it can be a challenge. Now that I think of it... maybe that's why I like it. You have full control over how hard the game is.

The storyline is the most important reasons I play rpg...what happens next and all. Been able to move along in a game and not just repeatedly doing the same thing over and over and again which is what makes me get bored of my racing games though I have lots of 'em.

i like rpg's because of the adventure, going from a little person who can't do squat, to a person who could do almost anything
