If sniping is going to win the game for me, then I'd happily ensconce myself in the shadows and pick apart my enemies. You should have no qualms about picking people off at a distance if it's going to win you the game.

My Opinion is that sniping is definitely a skill, but most people only use it because they suck at close combat, or because they just like the destructive power that most decent snipers have.

I love sniping on most FPS games I play. Thats because most of them are played on the computer. I have to agree with Tolapumj and his entire post.

I love snipeing... on xbl i always enjoy sniping on most games! I enjoy it on halo, gears tf2 its pure owage when you get a headshot! so awesome!

sniping gets annoying but once you know a map well you know where the snipers will be and how to sneak up on them. but the occasion death without a fight just randomly is annoying.

Well said, if you know what to do against them...they're easy to take them down. By example: trying to cooperate with a couple of teammates in multiplayer and as a team take him down.Sniping is skillful, and useful, those who hate snipers, are those who aren't able to do it and gain the upper hand.

Sniping is hard. With better AIs, you can only snipe twice or so before the enemy comes directly at you.It's an essential skill though.

sniping takes the fun out of a game when you dont know how to and the opponent does and then he/she starts to become cheesey whit it

Sniping isn't as easy as i thought it would be....Especially when ppl move around a lot, so i miss a lot....I suck at sniping, so, it does take skills....

Well actually those that complain about it have no military skill and are like up and close blow your head of with a shotgun those that are snipers have very good hand to eye coordination in games and in real life, it requires a good skill, but you can't always focus on sniping you use it if your enemies you feel are beneath confronting up close.

In what way does sniping show a lack of skill? First of all you need to be quick enough to take your shot and move without being noticed. Second you need the accuracy and percision to hit your mark and kill your target. Third you need the concentration and the patience to wait for you target and focus on killing it. Sniping shows more skill than running out to the front lines with a shotgun and death wish.

theres deinetly skill involved in sniping... i remember playin CS 1.3 and wobbling horribly with an AWP and takin like 8 shots to hit some 1... lol, but u improve the more u play.. so i guess its skill based.. now in COD... it gets more realistic... with the breath holding... snipin is skill developed over time..

the best thing with sniping is listening to someone go on and on about how great they are and how they can beat you without sniping and how bad it is rahh rahh rahh, and then shooting them in the head

I really don't like sniping...it really destroys my excitement in a game all you do is walk and just aim at the target...I prefer finding the target than waiting for the target to come out...

Hey,man i like Snipping very muchsnipping is the life of any FPS gamesome people scared of the snippers because through the snipper the got killed in one shot thats why they say that snipping is bad.

Nothing wrong with sniping, you just have to remember that you have to be able to fight up close and personal as well and a machine gun will always beat and sniper up close.

sniping takes alot of skill, especialy in online games, because not only do you have to take someones movement and speed into consideration (if aiming at a moving target) but you also have to take a certain amount of lag into consideration as well. lets face it, if you get picked off by a sniper's head shot, while running across a field in an online battle, your asking to get snipped... and the sniper has to have some considerable skill to pull it off. i laugh when people yell at me for sniping them so much, cause like alot of people have said, snipers are easy to kill up close. especialy if we r looking in the scope and u sneak up on us x_X

Sniping is a skill as far as its to the target and a head-shot is achieved. Thoughmost of the time in CS which i encountered is that as soon as thegame starts one or the other member is nocked down using sniper riffle. This is cheap. What i suggest is that let the game go o for sometime and then you snipe. It becomes your credit then. According to my expirience in sniping its not an easy go through. It requires a lot of practise. Thus to me sniping is a great skill.I've heard that a lot of people think that sniping in an fps is stupid, and shows a lack of skill. Personally, I think its a load of crap, but I'd like to know what you think.I say if your getting head shots once every second, thats some skill.

Whoever says sniping is for stupid ppl or cheaters get on my nerve if only they knew how hard it is to snipe especialy when you gotta snipe in a area with like no protection what-so-ever
