For me,its like one of the ultimate cheats in the world because you can see what happens later in the game and be prepared for it!!!!!!!

If you use it like that it's a way of cheating for you. But i just use it if i would die you don't have to start al over. Than i gladly use the save status. So no i don't think it's a cheat.Stosta

It depends on how you use it.If you're abusing the Save State feature by using it in the middle of a boss fight or something so that whenever you get hit or die, you reset to your last state to prevent that, then yeah, I would consider that cheating. However, if you use it sparingly and just save before boss fights or in places where it's a bit inconvenient to find a save point, or just need to quickly leave the game for some reason, then no, it's not really cheating.

Heh, it feels like cheating to me, just because of how much easier a game is when you can save anywhere you want. When I first played Ecco The Dolphin on Sega Genesis, it was insanely hard. But playing it on Fusion (emulator)? Difficult, but not overly so. Finished the game much quicker too.

The games designed for the hardware were not intended to be played with savestates involved. So yes, I think it is cheating. However, for rom hacks, I think you can make an argument that it isn't because perhaps there are some hackers that intended for you to use save states.

I don't care if it's cheating or not, I'm still going to use it. It made beating joker in MRA2 way less challinging.

The save states CAN be considered as a cheat, but oh well, since they're in VBA and other emulators, why not use them? ;)

Yes, it is a bit of a cheat, but come on, you don't need to call people ame, do you?As for me, If there are several playable characters to choose from, example : Megaman and Bass,Then I would use them very frequently.

It depends on how its used, of course saving during hard battles and constantly loading whenever something goes wrong - thats close to cheating. Besides, i feel such a playstyle really ruins the fun of a game. So i dont abuse it. I do regularly use it whenever given choices and the likes...I hate having to choose without knowing some consequenses beforehand and in some games that can really ruin things for you (like making a character you desperately wanted leave your party or not giving you a key-item) I also use it to test stuff, i remember Seiken 3, which had 6 different characters with 4 different end-game classes each. I wanted to see the best of them all without having to play the game 8 times...(although in the end i did so anyways ;))

It's pretty much a cheat in the way that you save when you normally can't. But some people might say otherwise, since they play through the game without using the "official save". But y'know it's a pain to get stuck in a game, cuz i'll probably never play it again lol.. It makes the game more fun by reducing the frustration, so I like it. As long as it doesn't destroy the fun for your playing experience, I don't think cheating really matters.Well, and I like to reload whenever there's a choice of conversation just to see how it can lead to different jokes :)

If you use it frequently like say "almost every time" then it can be regarded as a cheat. And if you use it just to save normally like you're just to far away for a save point. Plus nothing is more annoying than wasting hours of gametime (leveling, etc), then suddenly dying and you have to start all over again.

Most of the time the save states can be abuserd but the way I use them (Wich is hardly ever) isn't lame. Agreed most games have checkpoints but with the save states they are like we get to choose our own checkpoints. Agreed that if you do that you don't lose a continue or a life but your heal returns to what it was before you died. Take MMZ for example. Without the saves it is almost impossible to beat Harupia but with them you have infinite tries and that makes it alittle easyer.

It seems like it is cheating. You're not able to do that on the GBA itself.

well yea, the save state can be cheating depending on the situation.like, if you use it on the "who wants to be a milionaire" game (i know, it's so lame) then yes, it's clearly cheating
