I think metroid 2d is what made metroid what it is man. Being 3d it just is like halo or any other shoot em up games.

3-d one is more innovative, and I even consider it way too cooler than classic 2-d ones.

3D Metroid is so different. It's good and all that, but Metroid is, and forever will be, a 2D game.

yeah, 2d metroid is better. they should make a metroid pack for ds with super metroid, metroid fusion, zero mission, and the original3d is like james bond and metroid is not james bond

I love both, but I have a soft spot for 2-D Metroid games. They're what I grew up on, and Fusion was amazing. I want Dread to come out quick.

2D is the only way to go. I would love a NDS or Wii 2D Metroid.

I agree with many others that Metroid should just stay 2D...I don't see why that's so out of the question anymore...I mean 3D games are great and the technology keeps getting better and better but I don't see why that HAS to mean that there are no more 2D games...Why can't we have both? (And I'm not jsut talking about Metroid)But if they INSIST on doing it 3D I think they could make a pretty decent Metroid if they made it 3rd-person...It's the FPS thing that really gets me...It's just not Metroid...

I voted 2D Metroid because all the 3D Metroids give me motion sickness  Even Metroid Prime: Hunters on the DS makes me queazy when I try to play it... It's too bad too, because the little I've seen of the 3D Metroids look like really fun games...I had this same motion sickness problem with Zelda Ocarina of Time, too... ;)

I very much preferred the older 2D Metroid games over the 3D ones like Prime. Metroid just isn't a first person shooter to me. If they did want to make it a game like that, they should have made it more like Mega Man Legends IMO. A great way of making something 2D into 3D without turning it to pure suckage.

i like 2D metriod because you get that great side scrolling feel while 3D metriod gives you a chance to play with others that have great 1st person shooting skills metriod style.

I prefer good old 2D Metroid, although that may just be nostalgia, as my first Metroid game was Super Metroid. Man. What an awesome birthday present.

2D, without a doubt.Never been a fan of first- person type games, and I've always felt that there's a lot more artistic merit in coding all the animation and details into a 2D game.I'll take sprites over polygons any day.

I like the idea of FPS's... I just can't get into it because I suck so much.So I like 2D metroid better personally, but I have to say I liked metroid prime enough to stick through it and beat it. I don't think I can ever get used to hunter controls.

2D all the way! The GBA ones were fantastic! Nintendo should continue with the 3D ones, because they appeal to the FPS lovers, but they should definitely keep up the 2D games.
