the 2D versions seem more like some futuristic castlevania to me, and the 3D more like Doom 3.I'll just say that Both are interesting. Now it's important for everyone to think about which version is the most frightening.

I personally liked the 2D metroid games better because it was so much more comfortable than the 3D perspective. You had to constantly look at your radar to see where enemies were coming from, instead of a comfortable view of everything around you.

For me, good ol' 2D gets the job done in a way that 3D can't.:)<3Super Metroid<3<3<3. Metroid Fusion (GBA) was cool, too.

2 words:sideattacksIn 2d metroinds just push a direction and start blasting. 3d you have to blindly swing yourself around while blasting in every direction except at your enemy

I love metroid games. They are so challenging and take some time to figure out. The 3d version brought a whole new element to the game, but the 2d version games are still just as much fun to play.

The only 3D Metroid I ever played was Metroid Prime, I liked it but it didn't feel quite right. Too much was changed, even the music didn't have that trademark Metroid-y feel.I always saw Metroid as a speed-run kind of game, plus I grew up with the original and SNES versions, so 2D for me based on the one 3D game I've played.
