I agree that series is repeating itself and I'm finding pokemon a bit boring now...but I'm still remain as a true fan of the series, I'll probably just wait till there's a ROM for the new pokemon diamond/pearl. I'm hoping that in the new version, they bring around another pokemon like/ditto EARLY in the game, where you could start breeding earlier instead of much later in the game (like, for example, in Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal, you could catch a ditto right outside of the daycare center. Where as in Pokemon Sapphire/Ruby/Emerald, you had to wait till much later in the game till you could have a chance obtain ditto, I'd rather not go into details). I love to breed pokemon, experimenting and creating mega-Pokemon, thus I found the 2nd series MUCH more enjoyable then the 3rd series, but that's just me personally :jay:

If you don't agree with him, then I'll laugh my donkey off because....Well......They re-made they game oh....I saw about.....red, blue, yellow, crystal, gold, emerald, sapphire, and I forgot the rest. But the game play in all of them is the same thing. You train pokemon and beat the crap outta the gym leaders pokemon til you get to the elite four, orange league etc., (the name of the last boss battles staduim/mehjigger differs game from game) That's all. Besides the occasional run in with team rocket or some other knockoff team, pokemon contests, the hidden pikachu surfing game in pokemon yellow, and some hidden pokemon, that's pokemon summed up in a nut shell.

I think the repeating of the gameboy is okay, because you get to have new pokemon and fight new gyms. The guys too put in some kind of new feature in each game. But the TV series...It really is starting to bore me. I mean, come ON! The only things that've changed are the pokemon. Although Ash and co. got a change of clothes in the Ru/Sa generation, but it's still kind of boring.

It depends on what you mean by 'series', because really their comeing out with new stuff; mystery dungeon, pokemon rangers, pinball, etc. Besides at least the grafics are getting better :D

The pokemon contests were an excellent addition but the rest of the content of the newer games is a bit repeating.

The games might remain the same but the developers are too, why not get another team in there? Small improvements in the games engine could bring it very far. Imagine if the pokemon fights had a more detailed enviroment effect, the 9 surrounding tiles that your actor is standing on are used in a strategic way to move between? and some pokemon can only be used when there is a certain tile (like water) and can only stay within that tile. It would save alot of wandering around aimlessly.

Yes since they just add new pokemon, different people and new things you can do in-game like the pokebloack thingy.

Diamond/Pearl feels a little bit like Gold/Silver with the day and nightschedule. It will be another remake just with new Pokemon. We all know but will play anyway. All the other Pokemongames (including Mystery Dungeon) just don't have that much success.

I think you're classic pokemon games (IE: Not the Ranger/Dungeon etc ones) are getting incredibly old, incredibly quickly. All that seems to be added nowadays is new Pokemon and a new area or two. Some small things do make incredible differences to the game (Pokemon Contests and stuff), but the core of the game has not really changed in years. I think they need to vary it a bit, rather than your stock-standard "travel from town to town in a set order dealing with badges and side quests."I'd love to see a game more like the series (though the plot hopefully would be a bit better). Have people join you, have other gyms that you can go to. Don't have a set order in where you have to go. I'd love to see some stuff like in the first pokemon series where there was an unofficial Gym and the other gyms that Gary got his badges in. I'd love to see the Pokemon league being an actual tournament like in the series. I'd love to see you able to fail in your pokemon quest, and be able to pass the time between tournaments with things like the Orange Island tourny. I'd love to see random trainers set different rules than usual, I'd love to see the bad guys fleshed out, and be able to (temporarily) steal your pokemon and leave you with only one or two that you wouldn't usually use in order to get them back. The game needs to go over some major storyline changes, but it should keep the basic storyline (go get badges, go beat league). I'd love to see the game become more like Fable, and other games where your choices affect things in the game. Currently, your only choices seem to be whether you'll bike to a town or walk there. Let's do away with the old and usher in a new RPG style Pokemon game where the protagonist isn't confined to the rules of the previous games.</rant>

Some of the new Pokemon are looking ridiculously similar sprite-wise and style-wise to older Pokemon, and of course they are just repetitive in plot and stuff because, well, you always gotta have a reason to catch Pokemon (becoming the best trainer in the world OMG) and get badges and stuff, right? I guess at the heart of it though, they are not mere copies of each other, because each series adds something a little different gameplay wise.

I think that their would be repetition for Pokemon because it is the same type of story, but I would have to agree the thing that keeps it going is all the new pokemon and the challenges you have to face along your quest...

They are repeating them all the time. The pokemon may change but the idea stays the same. Still, it's ok watching the series on a sunday morning when you're feeling lazy

I don't think that stating the Pokemon series are repetitive is an opinion :( It's FACT. Same thing over and over again, with little improvement.
