are the pokemon games getting overlooked??

'Overrated' and 'overlooked' are complete opposites, but if you want to know if I think there are too many Pokemon games, I'd definitely say yes. Aside from Mystery Dungeon (which is a totally welcome departure from the rest of the Pokemon games), the games have all been the same, albeit with graphical updates. Anyone who's played every version from Red to Emerald is wasting their time, because it's all the same game. The only Pokemon game versions I've played are Red and LeafGreen. I really liked those games, but I'm not about to waste my time playing the other identical versions.

Considering that the entire GBA board here is Pokemon-based, how would it not be overrated? The entire third generation is extremely overrated, and I'm tempted to include the fourth generation in there as well.

You can't really call the dungeon games overrated when they weren't rated very highly by most web sites in the first place. As far as the regular RPG type go such as the upcoming Diamond/Pearl, I would be tempted to call them overrated since they haven't evolved much from the originals if it weren't for the fact that no other developer has put out a better monster catching game. Since they are still at the head of the class, it's hard to call them overrated.

Since they are still at the head of the class, it's hard to call them overrated.

Shakespeare, the Beatles, and Elvis have all proven that it's quite possible to be the best and still be overrated~

I remembered when fighting games started a topic like this...Pokemon it's as addictive as DBZ fighting games, and overrating it its impossible, because there will be always fans and more fans.

Yes, they are repeating pretty much everything over and over again. That's fine though because that's what makes them so great. They should try new things though.

The Pokemon series has been continued into oblivion. They should just end it while they're ahead.

Unfortunately it seems that the basic game play is the same for all of them... however there is obviously a market and I have to say I am still planning to play diamond/pearl when it comes out so call me a sucker for new pokemon
