I've seen previews of a new Wii Pokemon but it looks like another Stadium game. I'm tired of these stupid vs. games. Isn't it time Nintendo made a full MMORPG with Pikachus? How cool would it be to walk around in a fully realized world as a trainer and bump into actual people online and challenge them to a fight? Isn't it time for Nintendo to take it to the next level?

Yea I have been thinking about something like that for a while.It'll be very neat and if you get to join certain gyms and you can battle it up in their for rank. Of course, definitely something like gym matches or something, like instead of guilds.Not only this, but it has quite some potential for a very fun game...

Agreed with the above. They need to get this done either on the Wii or DS, because both are prime candidates for it, having WiFi and all.It would definitely be cool though, joining gyms and/or battling other trainers, even capturing. It seems like an idea that would sell, regardless of how long the series has been out. MMORPGs (Or something close to it) over WiFi seem like such a good idea, it makes me wonder why there hasn't been one on the DS yet. Because it would be free?

Im not really sure, but I once saw that Nintendo was planning on releasing a Game Boy styled version for the Wii, in other words, a RPG Pokemon game. That would be really cool, and probably they would make a MMORPG styled online play.

i really dont think that a pokemon mmorpg would work. There is already one in development for the pc (nothing to do with nintedo) but i think that if they did make a pokemon mmorpg i woukld like to see them get rid of the turn based combat sytem it really annoys me

If Nintendo loves us, then never. Pokemon has been deformed quite enough by disgusting spinoff games. Could an MMO really work for a console? Without the keyboard, it would be very hard to communicate with anyone (even with the DS touch screen).> Pokemon MMORPG, When will Nintendo make it?

When I wa younger, I thought this to be a great idea. Now that I am older I realize it most likely would not be very good or succsessful. If the game was made with ALOT of time and effort and featured some sort of communication via a headset with a mic, then it might come out pretty good.

I honestly think a Pokemon MMORPG could work, just not very well. Everyone'd be better off if they just stayed away from that idea.

Depends really, it oculd work extremely well, or be an awful game. But just the rarity that some pokemon are supposed to be might kill it, since everyone will have it and it will be a pretty bad situation, or noone will have it and everyone will start complaining. I think that a gameboy rpg like pokemon should appear on console, but I think that should be next-gen (after wii). It'll require massive horsepower with all the different variety of pokemon and on the wii, i think its potential would be stumped.

Yeh i was tyhinking that too if they made a pokemon world where every one is online with DS wii or whatever console. you can chat battle kind of like the union room but much bigger size of the world exact (well not exactly coz if ure in uk and someones in china your gonna be stuck in the uk area for at least three weeks)

The idea is great, but it will never happen. The Pokemon fanbase has a majority of younger gamers. The percentage of older gamers and hardcore gamers is slim. Although it would be AWESOME it won't happen anytime soon.

Actually if you think about it, the idea would really work. and its kinda cool to think about playing it as an mmo either through the wii or a ds... awsomeness. even though im gettin to old for pokemon, an mmo would just be too cool to resist trying it

Why not just and old classic pokémon version but online. Just you and your first pokémon in a huge map. Visiting cities with NPCs as well as other players. If you want a match, go to the gym and challenge the leader or have a fight with you friends. Are you boring about just fighting with friends? then travel and find some wild pokemons and try to capture them. Just that simple as the first pokemon, but only in 3D and online.

i agree that they should just make a new game just like the gameboy ones on Wii, but with better graphics and stuff, and to the statement about the Wii not handlingit, it handles an absolutely massive game like zelda with good graphics. why not a big pokemon game. it would work. Nintendo are just really stupid and don't listen to their fans and continue to create new ways of playing pokemon when all we want is more pokemon and a new story. I love nintendo and i hate them. grr.

well i think a wifi pokemon battle option would be nice, especially for the wii, being able to play against other players online to see who has made the best pokemon would be nice although some people would just start a new game and spend all their money and power ups on the most powerfull pokemon in the game but it would still be nice.

It is very possible and will happen at some point. Hopefully with compatability between Wii and DS versions, just with the DS being with sprites the the Wii in full 3D.Also, I'm sure there are at least a few fanmade online Pokemon games. You just have to look hard enough.
