i would start to play pokemon again if there was a mmorpg where you could either have your pokemon follow you or keep em in their pokeballs oh and it would have to have non random battles.

I honestly don't think Nintendo has the creativity to create a MMORPG for pokemon. Imagine how repetitive it would get...there would need to be thousands of new pokemon. I'm gonna go with no on this one.

there are nearly 1000 pokemon between all the games i think. they could just take the pokemon from the beggining of pokemon to the current one and put them in the game.

I don't think they have the creativity to use pokemon in a different way. Look how they made the same game about 15 times! (exageration)

I have actually been thinking deeply into this. There are two likely ways this could be pulled off:Handheld-like MMMO-Like the handheld games, but with multiple people playing. This would seem like the easier idea. Keeping all of content of old, with simultaneous play. -You'd probably want to take away some NPC trainers and add a requirement for Gym challenges (beat x trainers) or at least to get their TMs or maybe something extra (hideout furniture, maybe?). This keeps the interaction of players high to some degree. -To stop high-level players from beating all the newbs, the best way would probably be a badge comparison (someone with 8 badges can't battle someone with 3) or a level comparison (both players' highest levels must be within 2 levels of each other). The badge would probably be more efficient-Battles themselves could be on a different screen. While in battle, the trainer will be passable (no encounters while doing so), or maybe be able to watch the battle (makes them passable as well), though I wouldn't suggest it for random battles. Each battle can have its own rules (2 v 2, no switching, etc). If all of your pokemon faint, you don't just teleport to the pokemon center. Your encounter rate will drop to zero, nor you can't pick up any items.-Pairs would be formable for double battles. Pairs can be made by both players agreeing and are within reason (if they can battle with each other, they can pair) and their badge count would be the average of the 2 trainers' badge count.-I was thinking of maybe a rival battle function. You can choose a player to be a rival, and 1 battle per day with them can be a rival battle. Everyone can only have one rival, and both players are each other's rival. During rival battles, you both use all of your pokemon. You can't wager money or items (thought items could be wagered in-case one has no money), but you gain additional exp, and also both trainers' pokemon are healed after the battle (you can see why it would be limited). Rivals can keep track of each other's victories for competitive purposes (the earlier the rivalry starts, the bigger the race will be).-Legendaries will be a tricky thing. To prevent people from catching multiple legends, you need to have a certain number of pokemon of a certain criteria. This will encourage people to catch more pokemon and go to other areas. When you reach the designated number, you will get an item (you only get it once). You go to a certain area in a dungeon (or where ever) and use that item and you encounter the pokemon. If you faint it, it will "escape" and you have to wait for it to recover to try again (it drops the item when it escapes). Once captured, the item is gone forever.-Legendary runners will be less of a hassle. The legends will be in a route for a set time. In that time, anyone can encounter it. However, regardless of abilities, it will run on the first turn. Upon getting the item needed for them. you get the pokedex entry for it (if you haven't seen it yet). When you encounter the pokemon, use the item on the first turn and you'll get a message like "Raikou stares at you seriously." At that point, it will not run anymore and it will be just a legendary fight. If it faints, it's just the same as if you faint a regular legendary.-After the Elite Four, you can choose to go to either Orange Islands, Battle Frontier or you can go to a new country. -If you go to a new country, you can choose to get a new starter there, or choose to make one of your existing pokemon level 5 (all IVs and EVs intact). You are treated as if your other badges are meaningless. Your professor will keep your pokemon until you can handle them badge-wise.-If you absolutely beat every country, then you can go to a place called the "Master League." There, you can battle other elite trainers, buy exclusive items, and have access to special training areas for certain stat IVs. The trainer who on top of the trainer ladder at the end of the month can do a "Legendary Streak" in which the trainer faces every legendary in existance, all catchable, but only have a single chance (for that month, anyway).I have some other ideas for for this, and also the second MMO, but I'm hungry and am tired of typing. So I will continue at a later time.

I would buy this game the instant it came out and pay per month for it. It would be 100 times better than WoW or any other MMORPG : )

This game would be amazing, I think that the moment it came out Nintendo would be back in first place. Its weird to think about how they have made so many games about Pokemon and how many have battles over the net but they didn't ever want to make an MMORPG.

Pokémon Diamond & Pearl can be considered one step closer to a Pokémon MMORPG, so perhaps there is hope.

If Nintendo wanted a MMORPG for Pokemon, they would have done it by now or something right? Anyway a MMORPG might seem fun but it just isn't right. Maybe. It seems wierd to me - it's supposed to be a "strategy" game not like Maple and GO and stuff... Just too wierd

They should. Its already an RPG except that instead of one character your training u can train almost an unlimited number of them. All they need now is to make it online and the MMORPG is half done. If they don't mess it up it might be better than WoW.

I would camp out for the release of it haha. pokemon had (maybe still has) an enormous fan base, so even if the game was terrible it would sell like crazy.

Yeah the potential is there but they need to make it for a really hard audience to cater for...If they make a really complex game then you've lost all the young audience and if itis to babyish then no-one of an older age would play it. So I think they are working on ittrying to get the balance just right.

i've always heard the "official reason" for the games only being avaialbe on the pocket systems is because it is "pocket monster" which is lame hopefully they will change that, i would love to see even just a full sized system rpg come somedya
