I can't remember where i read it (i think off of some site calle ffshrine.com) but square-enix is making a sequel to final fantasy 7 finally! I'm not sure how good it is gonna be, but it's going to be called Final fantasy : The Dirge of Cerberus. The main character is rumored to be vincent and it takes place several years after the events in the first game. If you here anything else or have any comments, please post 'em.

I don't know where you read that but the last time I checked it was going to be a motion picture called Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children.

Yeah, no kidding. This just has me shaking my head, and getting ready to abandon Square altogether. I have been a loyal fan of Square and paticularly their Final Fantasy line for years now. I was even realed in by FF7. (Yes yes, I later went back and played a bunch of the older ones, don't worry.) But with the collosal :censored: up in FFX-2 and FFC (sorry to fans out there, just wasnt my kind of game. Hated it.) I am a little skiddish about them going anywhere near the sacred ground that was my first RPG.squares gonna f this one up just like FF 10-2.

I hope it only seems like it might be an FPS, and in actuallity it's an RPG with most of the main crew coming back along with some new members. They are so going to mess this up they should have left it at a movie, now they are making an FPS, I mean has square-enix ever done a good FPS..... I'm shudder to think how badly the outcome of this whole will be.

Yeah, it is an action game (and not a FPS). Some people are even calling it "Vincent May Cry." We can only wait and hope it's a good game.

it took time to find this info a long tiem back and i am wantign to get it since i am a die hard final fantasy fan(i mean come on i own basically every one of the games excepy gamecube one as i hate gamecube) and will get this one as well and the movie 
. square can make good games out of about anything and i liked X-2 no matter what others say i think it was alright for what it was.

im nervous about the game, this might actually be the first Final Fantasy game that i rent before i buy! Vincent May Cry, hey, that might just be the case, if that is would all you still buy it, or just completely ditch it all together!?

I think this game will suck cause of the characters. The characters look wierd in ff games now a days.

final fantasy isnt all about how the characters look! thats just a minor pain in the donkey to some. hell, final fantasy 3 had 2-D characters, i havent heard anybody complain there. what killed FFX-2 in my eyes, was the corny storyline, the complete lack of plot, and almost no relation to 10 expect for the odd thing. Square is known for the stunning stories, wicked plots, and how well most characters develop throughout the game, not how they look, c'mon!

Final Fantasy VII The Dirge of Cerberus and Final Fantasy VII Advent Children are two completely different games. FFVIIDC is going to basically be a action game. Both take place after the event in FFVII, but Dirge of Cerebus takes place after Advent Children.

FF7: Crisis Core will be on the PSP and so will FFVIIAC. Not sure if it is a movie or rpg. If anyone wants more info u can go to gamespot Also just in case no one wants to read the report, the whole gang fron FFVII is back including Aeris.
