Well, CRAP! That pretty well trounces everything I've been told about ROMS, to date... Thanks for the update, looks like I have some deleting to do. Just out of curiosity then, how can sites like this one & others allow the downloading of ROMS so freely? Are we allowed to download & try them, or something??? Or do the sites just get lucky & get away with it? LOL. Just curious, and thanks again for the update!

Hi there this is my first post so i hope im keeping within the rules etc.Ive got my DS lite and M3 Simply with the 1GB card. Finding it easy to play the DS games but not sure how to play the GBA roms on it, or even if its possible any help will be appreciated. thanks

It's not possible to play GBA games on a Slot-1 Device (your M3 Simply). The GBA code used to run GBA games is ONLY available to the DS through Slot-2. In order to play GBA games on your Simply, you'll simply have to either wish that someone makes a GBA emulator for the DS, or buy a Slot-2 device to go with your Simply. :) Personally, I don't think it's worth it just to play GBA games. I thought a lot of the GBA games were kind of cheesy & had poor graphics. Some were good (FF series was GREAT), but others SUCKED!!! XD Still love my WarioWare!

Nevermind, it's working, but I have another problem, which's driving me crazy.When I downloaded the 1.04 for the cheat thingy, I overwrited the cheat and cheat.dat in the _system_ folder to have a cheat for a certian game. But when I choose a game, not only the game didn't have the cheat, other games which had cheats in the previous cheat and\or cheat.dat are there. So, where are they? Where do I save? ><

What game are you trying to cheat?The new Cheat.dat doesn't have all the new roms cheats in it. Its possible to use the R4 cheat editor to make a another .dat file to put in your _systems_ folder along with the CHEAT.dat to have cheats for your game and still keep you cheats from the other cheat.dat file.You can get the cheats codes and and game code from codejunkies

There's no difference in functionality. The hardware has a small difference made to stop people from changing the M3 Simply to an R4DS and vice versa. That difference doesn't effect game play or performance in any way. The firmware has a different look, but M3 get their adapters from the R4 company. As soon as R4 gets a new firmware update, M3 adjust it for their own product, but they only adjust the look and not the functionality. R4 release their updates before M3, so M3 users have to wait a while before they're able to load the updates.

Does Anyone else have a problem where the m3 spits out there Microsd card? i have to use a piece of black tape to keep the thing in there! It works just fine, but i don't want to open the stupid thing 'cuz i might break it, and not even be able to fix the problem...

do what this person did he ripped out the spring with tweezers and it works just fine, of course he has to pull it out now,

Some people did, the spring didn't work right try contacting the place where you bought it and try to get a replacement.

i got a replacement for my spring faulty M3 Simply. its a widespread problem. ill be getting my new one in a few days (hopefully). if it happens again im just gonna rip the damn thing out, no spring just seems to make so much more sense

unless free games are legal in thous contries, there shouldnt be any.selling mod chips is illegal, so is installing them, or simply owning them. no company would be allowed to do that.import it like we all do

I currently have a M3 Perfect (slot 2) and a problem that bugs me is that you can't use multiplayer in download play mode (if only you have the game, or the rom in this case) unless the other player have a flashed DS. This is because Slot 2 card need to patch every games before playing.Does the Slot 1 card need to have the games patched before playing? And more importantly, is it possible to use the multiplayer download play to share games and demos? Also, I know this is the topic fot M3 Simply but is it the same for the R4?

slot 1 doesnt require patching. just drag and drop the games onto the card.single cart play on slot 1 sometimes works. cant remember why, but its still kinda a problem. some single cart play games will work fine thou

How can you run media files (Stuff like wma) in M3 Simply?You probably need to convert 'em, so with what do you do it?

Look on the CD that came with the M3 Simply, there should be a folder on the CD for the Moonshell app, in the moonshell folder look for dpgenc.exe, it'll let you convert some movies to the DPG format which is the only format that works for Moonshell. WMV is sort of hit or miss.

one would assume you would encode the WMA fles to MP3 as moonshell plays that just fine. but in the moonshell folder you can see plugins for mp3 and more, i havent had a chance to look yet but see if u can find a wma plugin

Oh, sorry, that was my misunderstanding. Everytime I see a question about playing media files on one of these flashcarts, I tend to assume it's video. I really don't know if it'll play wma files, I'll test it out in a bit and get back to you on that. As Aschen said, I'd assume you'd need to convert it to mp3 in order to play it, but I'll try and get a definite answer.Edit: So, I tried playing a WMA file and it doesn't work. There are a couple people working on a WMA plug in, but I haven't found a working one just yet.

From what I understand, the M3 Simply automatically patches a game when it's run. When you transfer the download play files to another DS, the non-flashcart DS isn't able to patch the game. So, it tries to play a patched game with an unpatched game and it isn't always able to play.
