ah. finally it works. thanksdo i have to do this for EVERY rom that i try to upload? [defragment the card, upload, rename, etc.] and does it work for ALL roms?

you only need to defragment if you have deleted files, on that note, there is a problem, since the loader was unable to create a save file, you cant play another rom, what the hell am i talking about, click on your saver folder you will see that there is no save file for elite beat agent, that is a problem since it means you cant save, the ez flash iv has built in auto save, meaning if you save on a unclean rom it will still save, but it saves that data to the temporary folder, when you load another rom it deletes it, sort of like a microsoft word, it is recovery of the last project, but if you load another rom it deletes the recovery, so you can still play and save but your save file will disappear if you load another rom, it works fine for me since i can just beat a game then start on another or you can manually copy the save file to your card, problem is you would need to do it everytime you played the game which is a hassle, you need to wait for the ez flash team to release a updated patcher to fix things, which might be awhile since they are concentrating on ez flash v.k i found out why the roms dont work, simply put, the ez flash team is lazy, they have not updated the loader since the 500's and most of the roms that dont work are simply because the loader does not know what type of save file to use, you need to update the loader manually.how the hell do i update the loader manually, go to sysbin folder, its the folder where you ez flash loader is, open ROMLISTDS.txt.and go here, and scroll down and look for the last numberwhich should be "0594";"Ice Age 2 - The Meltdown";"±ùºÓÊÀ¼Í2";"512Mb";"Eeprom 4Kb";"Japan";"ABC95B59";;;;"cyan"meaning that the loader only works for roms number 1-594, to rememdy this, you need to enter in the rest, go here.ftp://killerbong.hd.free.fr/romlistds.txtcopy 0595 to 0810 and simply copy and paste it into you ROMLISTDS.txt and click on save, problems solved at least for now.

There's been a change to the speed setting recommendation on the EZFlash V quickstart guide. There are now 2 different Kingston recommendations based on the place of manufacturing. It now reads:Here are recommended speed settings for some brands of MicroSD cards: * PNY safety=4, fastest=3 * Speed setting based on 1GB Japanese manufactured version. Avoid the Taiwanese PNY 1GB version because it suffers stability problems. * Kingmax safety=8, fastest=6 * Sandisk safety=12, fastest=10 * Kingston *Taiwan* safety=7 fastest=5 * Kingston *Japan* safety=3 fastest=2 My Kingston says Japan on it, so I guess it was a good buy after all.

thats nice i am expecting my 2gb PNY micro sd in mail soon, and i know it says made in japan in white so im safe, but it just shows that stuff made in taiwan are crap, i have had so many problems with electronics from taiwan, i had to to return 2 1gb computer ram before because they were defective strait out of the box they were kingston too, but yeah it shows that the best brand is the japan kingston and the japan PNY.

GBAtemp has posted their review http://gbatemp.net/i...showtopic=42399. They docked it for the MicroSD not being spring loaded, but I prefer that as the spring loaded ones seem more likely to break. The only other real complaints were a chip that sticks out underneath the front sticker and some graphical glitches with Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam.

okay guys, if you don't mind, I've got a few questions about the ez flash iv phat, which i got in mail today and got it up and running in like no time (thanks, excellent guide here!!) and patched a few gba games into it through the ez client programme. (i intend to use it mostly for gba roms, i got my m3 simply for nds roms)My questions are:1) How do you get a new skin for it? Can you download from trusty sites and port them in, and where on the card do you put the skin files on? Also, will the old skin file be overwritten?2) What kind of rom's do the ez flash iv phat support? I know gba of course, but do it also support game cube format, nes, or other nintendo formats?edit:3) Also - i can see that the ez flash iv cart got a battery on the circuit board, i am assuming it got to do with saves. does this battery ever wear out and has to be replaced after a time?

Question 1.you can get skins from the official ez flash iv skin thread, and yes the old skin is overwritteni have posted some of the pics already.here is the one i use.Posted ImagePosted Imagego here for download links with pictures.http://ezflash.sosuk.../about2283.html(some of these have ds loader skins only some of them have gba skins you need to check)instructions for installing skins on all 4 models of ez flash iv.Downloaded EZSkinner and the DS skin.Put the EF4 Kernel (ezfla_up.bin) in the EZSkinner folderOpened the Skinner program and skin it. put files on micro sd card.2. The ez flash iv only supports NDS and GBA roms, on that note to play gba roms please update your gba database, you also need to update your NDS database but since you are not playing DS roms then please update your GBA database here.http://ezflash.sosuk...88-0-asc-0.htmlAnd as for you question, about gamecube, you of course know that a gamecube is faster and stronger then a ps2 right? The Ez flash iv can play nes, snes, genesis, arcade roms though.you will need to download 3rd party software for it though.for example if you wanted to play snes on your ez flash iv you would need to download SNEmulDShttp://news.gbatemp....SNEmulDSv04.zipdownload and patch with dldi and create a folder named SNES on your micro sd card and place your snes roms on it.dont forget to rename SNES.nds to SNESmul.bin (the ez flash needs you to rename homebrew to .bin to run)to play the systems i listed above you will need to find emulators for them, most are supported by ez flash3.the battery recharges itself and yes it can run out after a while if you dont use it, but dont worry your saves wont be lost, your saves are saved on the micro sd or mini sd, the battery is to help your saves from being lost if you power off your ds real fast.

I just recently purchased an EZFlash V cartridge along with the expansion pack for it. I can't seem to get the rumble feature to work, I'm having issues connecting to Wi-Fi(internet), non-game ROMs aren't saving properly, and the DS browser freezes shortly after loading (It might mean the expansion pack functionality isn't working). Does anyone else have any of these problems? I've tired to hybrid tool as well and I'm not having luck. I've also tried both FAT and FAT32 filesystems.

did you update your kernell and download the rumble list?07-03-23Kernel V1.37dowload at herehttp://www.ezflash.c...ernel070323.zipFixed an eeprom timer init error. 0919 playable.Hybrid tool V1.02download at herehttp://www.ezflash.c...idtool-v102.rarAdding a GBA ROM to the Triple-pack * Download a recent version of EZ4-Client and unzip it to your PC * Double-click EZ4_client.exe to start the program * Click the 'Configure' button * Change the send path to your SD card reader drive * Click 'OK' to exit the configuration screen * Click the 'Open' button. This will display the ROM file chooser window. * Highlight your GBA ROM and click the 'Open' button * Check the 'ROM Name' text field in the top left hand corner. Enter a name if this text field is blank. * Ensure the 'Add Save Patch' checkbox is ticked * Click the 'Send button'. The ROM will patched and copied to your MicroSD card. It will appear as 'ROM name.gba' * A folder called 'SAVER' will also appear on your MicroSD card. This can be safely deleted via explorer. * Remove the MicroSD from your PC and insert it into your EZ-Flash V * Insert the EZ-Flash V and EZ-Flash V triple-pack into your Nintendo DS and turn it on. * Skip the health warning and launch the EZ-Flash V menu * Highlight 'ROM name.gba', hold down R and press SELECT. A dialogue box will appear saying "Write ROM? Y/N". * Press A to confirm or press B to cancel. Wait about a minute for the ROM to be written to the Triple-pack. * Once complete, hold down R and press A to start the game! Once a GBA ROM has been written to the Triple-pack, it will remain until a different GBA ROM is transferred. You can now also run the GBA ROM from the DS main menu by choosing 'Start GBA game' Backing up GBA savegames to the EZ-Flash V MicroSD * Load the EZ-Flash V main menu * Hold down R and press X. A dialogue box will appear saying "Backup Saver? Y/N" * Press A to confirm or press B to cancel * A directory called 'GBASAVE' will be created on the MicroSD card and your GBA savegame will be copied into it. Note that firmware 1.36 contains a bug where GBA savegame backups do not automatically have the .SAV extension added to the end of the filename. You will need to manually add '.SAV' to your savegame file if you want to copy it back to the EZ-Flash V Triple-pack. Writing GBA savegames to the EZ-Flash V Triple-pack * Load the EZ-Flash V main menu * Highlight a GBA savegame (usually stored in the 'GBASAVE' directory) * Hold down R and press Y. A dialogue box will appear saying "Load Saver? Y/N" * Press A to confirm or press B to cancel * The savegame will be copied to the EZ-Flash V Triple-pack Note that firmware 1.36 contains a bug where GBA savegame backups do not automatically have the .SAV extension added to the end of the filename. You cannot send a savegame to the EZ-Flash V Triple-pack until you have added '.sav' to the end of the filename. Keys for Triple-pack * R+A: Launch Triple-pack GBA mode (req. firmware 1.36 or greater and EZ-Flash V Triple-pack) * R+SELECT: Copy GBA ROM to Triple-pack (req. firmware 1.36 or greater and EZ-Flash V Triple-pack) * R+X: Backup GBA savegame from Triple-pack to MicroSD (req. firmware 1.36 or greater and EZ-Flash V Triple-pack) * R+Y: Copy GBA savegame from MicroSD to Triple-pack. [edit]Keys while running backups * L+START+SELECT: Return to EZ-Flash V main menu (req. firmware 1.36 or greater, hybrid ROM with reset patch enabled)

now i got a new question, now that i've had my ez flash iv phat for a few weeks..Recently I tried to run Kingdom Hearts, which was on 32mb, on my gba micro. I got a warning box, which said "Warning. A 256M Rom be written to flash, Y" (that was all i could read, the text seemed to be cut off somehow). I clicked the A button and it started to process it up to 100% and just stayed there. I also encountered the same thing with Fire Emblem Multilanguage which was of the same size, this one started up but the screen was just all white.Does this mean that the ez flash iv phat for gba does not support roms that big? If it does yet, is there anything i have to check off or change in the ez client to patch it over?

this should be in the ez flash thread, and all the roms on this site are clean roms, the problem is that you are using a slot 2 flash device, and a slot 2 flash device cannot play clean roms, you need to use the ez flash iv patching program and newest loader, they have just released a new version ez flash v which can play clean roms meaning that you dont need to install them on your card using their game installer program, unlike the ez flash v where you can just click and drag the games into your micro sd, in ez flash iv you need to run it through the ez flash program, check my thread i posted how to use it.

I just downloaded the new konami classic series arcade rom for the DS, and my EZ4 client said it wasn't a clean rom, and I've yet to be able to try the agme out. yes I'm using a slot 2 card if that means anything. Any thoughts, I'd hate to think I wasted my 14 download points.

all that message means is that your romlist.tx is out of date and the game is not in the database dont forget to update your romlist.txt from the ez flash forum, i do every week because they release a new one every few days because of new games.

sorry i cant help you, i have the ez flash iv deluxe (ds lite model of ez flash iv), but i can tell you that kingdom hearts works fine for me, and saves as well.

yes you can, the ez flash v is a slot 1 flash cart, which means its click and drag, simply drag your nds files into your micro sd, although you will be unable to run the rom trimmer or hybrid tool, that being said many programs on flash carts are windows only, so its the same all around for mac support, sad but true, most flash cart programs dont work on macs.

Did you patch yours in some other way or just accepted the standard choices that comes up in the client when the file is loaded? i am thinking save type and such.. Been considering your answer and it does not make much sense if it should work for the ez flash iv lite while it is just the same as the phat one. so i just started pondering if mine was patched wrong..

you trim a rom to make the file smaller, there is alot of extra data added it, you trim the rom to make it smaller so you can fit more games, this is true for all flash carts and all flash carts have their own rom trimming program if you can find one for macs it will still work on your ez flash V, and hybrid means that you make the file run faster on ez flash v by changing some of its data.

If you have an R4 would you need the passcard or could the R4 do that instead?

The R4 can, i have a R4, all i need to do is hit the boot slot 2 flash cart button on the far right next to the multimedia button, so you dont need a passcard.

yes get the ind lunar knights not the wrg (dgemu has wrg), ind hacked out the english voices in their release thats what the hang up is, and added in the japanese ones, small change but it works.
