sure there are tons of great games, lets see Bleach DS is a great fighting game, then there is of course both the Jump games, superstar and ultimate, then the japanese version of Elite beat agent which i think is better the corny american version, Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan has better songs that Elite Beat Agent well it does in my opionion.

Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan is an amazing game! If you liked Elite beat agents, try this one! (It's basically the same. .. just with JPop, and cooler agents)Also, the new megaman starforce series is already out in japan, if your a fan of MMBN you can give it a try (but you'de probably need to understand some of the language...)

Like many have recommended OsuTatakaeOuendan! very nice game, with the release of EBA, more or less know what to do (if you played it) and the storyline you should be able to predict what is going on having plaed the song 3 or so times. And if you like your fighting games then Bleach DS is the way to go ^^ and look forward to the 2nd installment

This one is available in English too, but what the heck...I had an awesome time playing Wario Ware (Made in Wario) in Japanese. It's a lot more challenging this way! I actually got 100% completion, but some of Oberon's games were really tricky (e.g. his boss game requires that you know at least some Japanese letters, possess a great deal of luck, or both).

It all depends on how patient you are.I've once played an entire Japanese RPG by patiently saving and then selecting random dialogs. It was a weird game too. You play as a little boy with a pet squirrel that talks to you (and you somehow understand it).Another old yet fun game that could be tons of entertainment if it was converted to the DS would be "Powa Pura : Pura Yakiyo 6!".PPPY6 is actually one of the most amusing baseball games I have ever played. The chibi-esk characters were always fun to hit with the baseball 'accidentally'.
