After Metal Gear being an unexpected hit, Hideo Kojima was inspired to do an authentic sequel (after the non-canatical Snakes Revenge). There was a lot of effort put into this, and nearly every aspect is improved over metal gear and snakes revenge. This game takes place 5 year after the original in 1999. After the cold war, oil supply has gone down. Dr Kio Marv has a solution to this, called OILX. On his way to a conference to present OILX, he is kidnapped by an island named Zanzibar. Your mission is to save him.

sigh*I hope not.. given it would make.. some sorta sence.. in order to carry on a perfect series.I mean.. he has been through some sh*t.He lost all his friends pretty much in metal gear 2 and a few others in the future games.(u know.. nintendo metal gear?) great game..I dont think they should kill him off.nor should he have gray hair..but the realness is what is keeping this alive..Now, if he has a sucessor.. or someone to whome he trains.. and sends into battlekinda like grey fox.. or fox hound (what ever his boss was)then it would be kick ass

He'll probably die, but then Liquid Snake's toe will connect to his body and take over.

Right now the story is so confusing, I just roll with it. He could die, have his pinky stitched onto otocon's foot and be back in the action in no time

Kojima has stated that Snake will not die in MGS4. I have also heard rumors that there might be more MGS games after MGS4, made by the original staff, but without Kojima, probably some spin-offs.

I'd be sad if Snake did die 
If they do kill him off then I don't think they should continue with the series. It wouldn't be the sames without snake.

well metal solid games are more like a an experience than a game because of how well it is made and the movies witch make it feel like a movie so i think he has got to die so hideo kojami can make a new BRILLIANT GAME !!!! well thats wot i think anyway

i wouldnt look of for it on youtube, video quality doesnt tell the true story, www.gametrailers.com isa good site for it, watch it in sd so its a bit smaller and buffers fasterwhen he asks if raiden is immortal to is it me or does that make you presume that he should be dead?

If Solid Dnake dies then they better not do to him what they did to liquid or else ill be pissed and never play metal gear again now that would be bad cuz im in the middle of replayin the series anyway lol

maybe he'll die coz they said this is the last game in the series concerning solid snake, but not the last game in the series, maybe it will go on with raiden (please no), or prequels with big boss...

If the Old Snake dies....They'll probably just make another clone of him to continue the series.....isnt that what they explained at the end of MGS3? Isnt that the reason why he always looked like the same age in MGS3 , MGS2 and MGS

metal gear is such a great series but this is probably the end for it , snake is at his age where hes not like he used 2 b. i think he will die in this 1.

As far as I know, I heard somewhere that they're making a 5th to tie together the final plots, I do not know if Snake will die but since Kojima is the master of suspence not many (if anyone) will know what will happenWe just have to find it out for ourselves in 2008What is going to happen however is that Kojima will resign from the gaming industry, mostly due to several fan-written threats because of MGS2, which I think is rather sad...Still looking forward to this awesome game which is the sole reason I will get me a PS3 (whenever I afford it)
