I couldn't find a thread on this so I hope it doesn't exist already.I want to find a good list of the best (or just top) original Game Boy games. Not color. Not advance. Original. I know Pokemon Red/Blue is on there for me as well as Super Mario Land 2. But I need help making a good list.

*Zelda - Link's Awakening (the first version was for the original GB; GBC and GBA have a custom color setting for it)*Battletoads (there were two games, both were good)*Metroid II - Return of Samus (GBC and GBA have a custom color setting for it, but the cartridge is B&W)*Megaman IV & V (the others don't make the cut, IMHO)*Final Fantasy Legend III (was named like that here. I was told that it originally comes from the Saga series)*Gargoyle's Quest (if I didn't liked this, I wouldn't have a Red Arremer fansite >.< )Can't think of any other right now...

Link's Awakening is the best original GB game. Period. There's a reason it was on top of the Nintendo Power Charts (yes, #1) from basically the time it came out until nearly the end of them even keeping charts anymore... one of the Pokemons finally passed it up.Final Fantasy Legend III is probably the best turn-based RPG (yes, it is the original Saga series).Final Fantasy Adventure is a great action RPG, but of course Sword of Mana for GBA, the remake, is a lot better. The Adventures of Lolo series was good on the NES, and its puzzles are about as good on the GB.Donkey Kong for the GB adds a lot to the original game and is truly a classic.Gargoyle's Quest is pretty cool, yea.Wario Blast was one that I always liked, but it's not necessarily a stellar classic. The Donkey Kong Land series is legit.Kirby's Dreamland 2 was pretty fun, and the original KDL I play just for nostalgic purposes.James Bond 007 was one of the later titles in B&W, and I found it pretty good.Wizardry games and Ultima games are all good too.The GB has some pretty decent titles, really. People don't give it enough credit. Hope that's a decent enough list for you! :D

If you loved Link's Awakening already, I suggest that you try FF Adventure and James Bond 007 as your first options for new games to play on it. Those are really the best quality games that I think resemble Link's Awakening fairly enough.EDIT: of course, the GBC Zelda games are awesome too, but I am guessing you played those already, and they don't belong in this thread anyway.

To be honest, I have to say that my favorite original GB game is Mortal Kombat II. It really was a slickly-done fighting game, and I still consider it one of the high-water marks for simplicity of control, character combinations, and so forth.

Link's Awakening was awesome - one of the top Zelda games, design-wise. After that, I'm a strong advocate of Kirby's Dream Land. Mario Land 2, too.

Man, the best Gameboy games, huh? Old school stuff was awesome, and though I know most of these have already been mentioned, I just can't help but add to the praise.1. Zelda: Link's awakening - It was a fun, quirky little Zelda game, and I loved it! It's hard for me to decide whether I like this one or Link to the past better, but man, this one gave me hours of gaming enjoyment!2. Demon's Crest - For no reason other than it just had addictive gameplay.3. Pokemon Red - I would play this one and lose track of time. So much so that I'd often go missing and leave my parents in a nervous fit because they couldn't find me :)4. Tetris - I was never any good, but this, in my opinion, made puzzle gaming a reality in the US!

Yeh pretty much. I would just add a few in there like Crystalis and Pokemon Crystal.

You mean Gargoyle's Quest? Because Demon's Crest is a SNES game (also starred by Firebrand :P)

I could only think of one "Zelda Link's Awakening". It was an old classic and I really enjoyed the puzzles it gives me. I could even keep BowWow by doing the screen skipping techinique.
