I just switched to ATI because they are more that ultimate gaming while Nvidia is used in games like WoW and Battlefield. I use my ATi card in CSS which was my favorite in the world!

I use nVidia GeForce 2 and I seem that nVidia is better. 98% (with newest and best games) tested working.

XD looks like we got a fanboy round here XD have you ever owned a nvidia graphics card? have you compared the image quality? have u compared the performance in benchmarks? i assume u have not, and sorry to say, but next time: first inform yourself, then try to stay objective.btw can't wait for the new radeons either... ;-)lets see if they can beat nvidias upcoming G80 refresh... hope so, nvidia is getting kinda strong these days.

ok first off... fanboys... hehe... read up on the stats, test and especially the benchmark tests.saying that ATI in better that nVidia, is like saying that Intel has anything on AMD. the tests prove that nvidia bas better gaming performance, and picture quality.i was just looking at the tests today in fact.ohh and i've had both ATI and nVidia cards. my old tnt2, when overclocked, out performs a 64 meg ATI.i also now have a comp in my house that has a geforce 5300(i think) with 256 video mem in it. it also outperforms my friends ati 512mb. sorry.

i have a ATI x550 in my comp. ATI's cards used to have the advantage over NVIDIA due to NVIDIA's inability to render HDR and AA at the same time. Of course that all changed with the introduction of the gf 8800 GTX and GTS. It will be interesting to see what ATI's new RV600 chip can do. Personally I think the performance will be very similar to what the 8800 GTX is capable of now.

I sincerely doubt that unless the ATi card is the most budget model you can find. The Nvidia 5xxx series cards were absolutely DOMINATED by the competing ATi cards.

I have both an ATI and Nvidea card. I prefer the ATI one, surprisingly enough, it can run games better than the Nvidea one, even though it's on a lower end PC (2 Ghz), compared to the Nvidea one (3.2 Ghz), but you will also need RAM, my ATI computer can't run Battlefield 2 well because its memory fluxs from 400 mbs to 600 mbs, whilst the Nvidea one is stable at 512 mbs.

That makes absolutely no sense man. What models are they? And how on EARTH does RAM fluctuate?

eVGA 6600 GT and I wish I could upgrade to a 7xxx model of some sort. Although I like the performance, I am not pleased with the amount of energy this thing puts out. ATi cards, for the time being, seem to use more energy and often beaten by the nVIDIA "counterpart" so I wouldn't get one just yet.

As I've said in another ATI vs. Nvidia thread, I believe that they perform better at different things. IIRC, Nvidia beats ATI when running an OpenGL game. The opposite is true for DirectX.

A bit off topic, but do you honestly think Intel has nothing on AMD?Have you even seen a C2D before?Although I will agree, nVidia is getting very strong nowadays, however, I'm still using an ATI card ><

I've currently got an ATI video chip (onboard) in my PC. After I get a bit of cash later in the year, though, I'll be buying a GeForce. I don't really have anything against either company, since they both make great cards. Seeing as ATI is owned by AMD now, I kinda want to steer clear of them. I'm not saying I don't like AMD, either, which is beside the point.

I have NVIDIA in one computer and AMD in the other. There really isnt much difference in the two because they both do what I want them to.

I've used both and I liked NVIDIA more. NVIDIA has stability behind it. My old ATI card could handle the top settings, but was showing strange white dots everywhere on Halo and would crash when I was playing Quake 4. My new NVIDIA card hasn't had a crash yet, but it's a little sluggish on maximum resolution for Halo. From how I see it, it all depends on which you value more; speed or stability. If you want a fast card that will most likely crash or show unwanted white dots, go with ATI. If you want a smooth, stable video card, go with NVIDIA. Although I prefer NVIDIA, I won't flame someone just for using ATI.EDIT: By the way, I use an EVGA GeForce FX5500 AGP card with 256MB RAM.
