I have an Nvidia 7600GT because it was pretty cheap for it's performance at the time. Not to mention, Nvidia is the one who actually makes the geforce chipsets, so I see nothing wrong with them. The only thing I don't like about my card now is that it can do the almost full anti-aliasing modes (IE 4x in Half-Life 2/Source mod games) but not the full anti-aliasing modes (8x in aforementioned games).

running nvidia 6600GT now. might switch to ATi or remain in nvidia in the next upgrade. depend on which 1 is on the top chart when im upgrading ^^

ATI is suppose to be great for gaming and stuff like that, but i never tested it myselfI've used nvdia for a while, no problemsi'd say they're the same, unless ur like a graphic artist, or have a great computer to super high textures/max resolution in games.It's like saying which is better coke or pepsi?everyone has their own opions about the sodas, same goes for video cards

ok i would just like to add people that ati give out better framerates while nvidia gives out better quality oh and i am a ATI fanboyedit:it also depends upon what game you want to play exampleif you want to play Half-life 2 with all graphical options unlocked then you need a shader model 2.0b cardnow nvidia dont create pixel shader 2.0b cards so to run it in dx9 you need a minimum geforce 6 (£60-£100) as for ati the radeon 9550 (£30) has shader model 2.0b so its down to wether you want a good card or low budget card.

No, you got it wrong. If you had half a clue you'd not be recommending obsolete hardware. @guitar -please control urself.Not everyone has the amount of tech know-how u do.Sure what the guy said is rubbish in terms of todays cards.But u could be a bit more controlled with ur postsA good cheap card to buy now would be a geforce 7300 gt(sub $100) or a geforce 7600 gs(sub $120)No directx 10 but will work well enough for most activities.(don't expect too much though)Just for the record a 7600 gt performance= 2x 6800 gts in sli

Personally, I have always used Nvidia on my computer and I am a 3-D animator. I have noticed that Nvidia is faster on rendering projects on 3D Studio Max 8. Also, since I play WoW on my PC at home that uses Nvidia and it runs very smoothly and efficiently. Now, I use ATI at my workstation and I noticed that it does not render as fast as Nvidia does, nor does the quality of the product look as good. This is why I have decided to order the new Dell XPS systems for my house and for my workstation as well.Since I figured I could speak from experience, I put my own two sense in.

I have used both. I like both. Personally I prefer ATI typically because the cards are cheaper, and usually have more of the Features I like. I really like using ATI's all in Wonder cards bcause of the TV tuner that is built in. My ATI has ran every game I ever wanted it to spledidly. I'm using a 9800 AIW Pro, and will probably upgrade to the Radeon X1950 Pro when I get my Dual core. While Nvidia makes some great gamer cards out there. I have had two very big problems with them, which while one could argue ATI has had, ATI seems to fix faster:1) Driver updates and support2) And heating issues

i had a ATI cad about 7 years ago and since 2000 i have been using Nvidia. they are both good companiesthe current card that i have has been in my PC for 3 years and now i need to buy a new one if i want to play some of the new games (games that have pixel shading cant run on my current card).AsrarQ

I have a 6600GT in my computer, and I absolutely detest Nvidia's drivers. My next video card will most likely be Nvidia; I won't be waiting for r600.

Since when as a geforce 7300 been an ati card i am talking about the lowest Half-life 2 dx9 shader cards for each manufacturer and the lowest ati is the 9550 the lowest nvidia is the 6200 the fx series is running older shaders so it cant handle certain effectsand sorry for getting the prices wrong but who in th right mind wants to buy a 7300 when the NVDIA 6600/6800 Or the ATI RADEON 9800 as it happens i have a 7300 in my pc (2.6ghz 1gb ram 512mb geforce 7300) and its crap in hl2 anything above 800x600 and your fps drops to like 30fpsNo, you got it wrong. Now you're babbling. I never said that was an ATI card, and you never responded to my post. Also the 7300GT should actually be faster than a vanilla 6600. It might even be competitive with a 6800, but I wouldn't know.

I would say it's easier to find a 7000 series card than a 6000 and I know many of the newer cards use much less power and support newer technologies.http://www.nvidia.co...eo_support.htmlI find it weird that the 6600 GT has features that the 6800 GT does not.

it doesnt matter to mei use Nvidia right nowi might use ATI the next computer i make or the next card i buyit depends on whats cheaper and has better specs

quality and performance go with nvidia -- tests prove they're a step better compared to ATI BUT!quality and price-wise (although some nvidia cards are cheap also..) -- go with ATIboth are great manufacturers. so grab the card that suits you........ i prefer nvidia though ü

@josh-I believe u haven't heard of all the problems nvidia have been having with their vista drivers and the 8xxx series cardsHardware wise nvidia has always had the edge in one way or another(except ofcourse during the reign of ATI's 9xxx series and x19xx series)I really like ATI software better than nvidia but right now nvidia has the best performing GPU in the world

I have an ATI Radeon 9200SE. It's kinda old and the only reason I have it is because my brother didn't want it anymore. I do prefer ATI though cause their color scheme is like all red and Nvidia's is green and I prefer Red to Green. Also all my friends have just used ATI and if (probably wouldn't) I needed any help I could get it easier.

Ugh... I had a 9200SE once...terrible card.I had a hercules Kyro Prophet 4000XT that beat the SHIIIIIT out of that card.I have an ATI Radeon 9200SE.
