Maybe Majora's Mask is not as epic and long as Ocarina of Time was, but it has the exact same great gameplay, a good enough story and an interesting time system, not to mention the BIG amount of sidequests there is(to get all the masks). So why do you people hate Majora's Mask?

because it has a pretty minimal plot. It is practically the zelda version of FFX2. It only has four dungeons. The boss is pretty dumb. Your main item weapons are masks. Its too easy other than the fact it tells you nothing about how to find some of the masks. It seems rushed the list goes on. Still better than 99% of the other games of the console

I rather liked it actually. The puzzles were still as challenging as ever, and (without a FAQ of course) I still managed to get lost quite a few times. However, I would also note on the lack of storyline. Still, some of the sidequests were quite interesting.-gamefreak

Majora's Mask is a much smaller game than Ocarina Of Time, so the repeating 3-day scheme was used to drag the game out longer. It's basically a recycling of character sets and graphic elements from OOT, and was originally slated for release on the 64DD (Disk Drive) system which failed in Japan and was never released in the US. Many people see it as a lesser game because it was not as fully developed as OOT, and it also required the expansion pak to play, but it was still a lot of fun. Weird, but fun.

The only reason majora's mask is hated so much is because plain and simple ocarina of time was just soooo much better.

The funny this is, considering how much I love Zelda, I haven't played Majora. Ever. I own the collector's disk for Gamecube, and maybe will put it in someday (after I'm done with Twilight Princess, of course). Ocarina of Time is (along with Resident Evil 4), the greatest game of all time, IMO. Maybe I just didn't want to stray from the perfection it achieved. While playing Twilight Princess, I'm still wishing they did things more like Ocarina so as not make the game less restrictive. But what can you do?

I thought Majora's Mask was a very good game. In a lot of ways it tops Ocarina. The time system was great as were the masks. So it wasn't as epic as Ocarina of Time. To me that's not a big deal. If it had been in development as long as Ocarina, it would have never been released on the N64, and that would have been a big disappointment. Not every game can be in development for 4 years.

If you weren't timed on everything, I'd like it better. But I already like it a lot.

I could never hate Majora's Mask (Huh? There isn't even anyone called Majora lol). In my opinion it was beter than OOT but still not much better. Both games were awesome!

I loved Majora's Mask!! While the three-day thing and the not being able to save got really annoying at times, i was able to look past those tiny flaws and se that it was actually a great game!1 The masks offer a whole new dimenstion to the gameplay that Ocarina of Time just doesn't have. the temples were bigger and more intricate and definately more fun to play through than a lot of the temples in OOT.

It was Okay it killed some time while waiting for the next console one ( GBA Zelda sucks... sry but it does)and most likely its because of the expansion pack that it didn't do that well what was it 30 bucks that not many games needed. (it was a gimmick like the 32X for sega)I can only think of three gamesDiddy KongMajora's maskTurok

OH MY GOODNESS, majora's mask is why i joined this site, the game is amazing, not everyoen hates it so much, i loved its unique time system, and with a limit on how much time you can put into it, you really have to think about your money and your weapons and things that leave you, its a true work of gaming art.

Well... I actually loved MAjora's Mask... ._.I don'T know... the game play's kinda original with the classique Ocarina of Time graphic style. The real challenge is actually getting the game done at 100% which means All the Masks, All the Hearths, All the Magic... and everything. The challenge of the game actually drops a lot when you get the Fierce Deity's Mask... but Link become kinda cool when he wears it :)So... The game itself ain't quite has challenging has Ocarina Of Time but I still liked it =D

I liked Majora's Mask. The masks were a really cool feature and the time travel added to the challenge, and therefore the fun, of the game.I hate Tatl, though. Tatl, in my opinion, can eat s**t and die.

I Like MM, but OOt is longer. More dungeons. Fishing. and a lot more cooler things.

On my list of the best Zelda games, Majora's Mask ties for third with The Wind Waker.

Two things that would have made me like MM better;1- They could have made it LONGER! This game had sooooooo much potential. Length was the only problem I had with OOT, and this one's shorter!2- They could have waited and put it on the GC. Remember SSBM? The other Zelda Area whose name I can't remember? That looked really GOOD! Imagine if, instead of making it an N64 game with expansion pack, they made it a GameCube game! It could have had even more enemies (and I like having lots of enemies on the screen. Remember KH2? That part with 1000 heartless? LOVED it). It could have looked better. And it could have been BIGGER!
