Now does taking apart the controller count as breaking one? Because if it does then I have broke a few.

Yes two of them... My snes controller was very old and i was playing Illusion Of Gaia (great game) and i died at a boss. I through the controller at my T.V. it bounced back it me in the head then the casing came off. The cool thing was i could still use it. The other one I broke was a ps1 controller I was tired walking through the house. It was dark and Heard *CRUNCH* My foot was all messed up and the controller was in worse shape. I sold it to Allide Record Exchange for like 3 bucks.

Depends if ya managed to get it back together again and working properly. If ya didn't, I'd say that was broken alrighty. >.<

Unfortunately, the D-Pad is sticking on one of my NeoGeo controllers (I have the smaller ones, not the larger ones with the joysticks.) And I wore out the analog sticks on my original controller for my PlayStation. But in my whole history, that's it.

I've had many horrible experiences with broken controllers. My very first, was an N64 controller my dog had chewed to pieces. the next few N64 controllers all wore out, the joystick would always loosen up and eventually quite working.. too much mario party. I dont rememeber which one, but a game in the mario party series had a wind-up flying doll thing that required you to spin the joystick as quick as you could. this resulted in broken joysticks and blisters on my palms. IT SUCKED.On to my playstation years.. who hasn't broken a playstation controller? the games had gotten increasingly hard at my young age, and many controllers just decided to not work, after being beat up and tossed around enough.. O, how about the time I was playing Playstation 2 at my friend's place. I was leaving the room, and I tripped on the controller cord, Ripping the plug-in out of itself [i dont know what happened, but chords and bits were everywhere] and also yanking the PS2 across the room, luckily no damage. To this day, I don't believe I have broken an X-Box controller.. They are either luckier than the other consoles, or just more durable. And if computer mice count, I think My dad beats everyone else in this topic. he plays online poker, and usually loses, so we go through about 2 to 3 mice per week. I use to play Diablo II so to me, mice counted as controllers.

I have not broken a controller yet, but I have cracked parts of it (like the plug-in for the N64 and there is a tiny crack in the control stick) most of the time is just from being silly and ripping the controller out of the plugin
