Yes out of frustration when a game is to difficult Iv'e broken 1 at least for every system i played. The NES,SNES,PS &the PS2. Normally I can get away with slamming them around about 5 occasions then repair them after i cool off. Eventually I'll quite playing the game that got me agitated to stop that cycle. What a surprise I had though when I purchased 1 of them clear special colored controller's that was made by the makers of the Sony Play Station2 all it took was 1 throw and it shattered in a lot of pieces it was a nice cool blue color i liked the fact of seeing the inside of it. It was my favorite for about 2 weeks until this.

Accidentally messed up a SNES controller more than it was already. It was hard to press the pad, opened it, and misplaced something.I almost broke both my TV and my NES gun when i were younger by shooting and literally assaulting the screen.

In my case, I played the game X-Wing which used my old analog stick controller VERY extensively. I beat the game and then soon after, the controller no longer worked properly (for one thing, the down direction was absolutely dead). I think some minor adjustments inside would have fixed it (like I did with my sidewinder gamepad controller) but I wasn't obviously too knowledgeable about such things when I was only 13.

Broken "any" controller? Well let's see...For the PS1, I've broken 3 of the smaller controllers (the controllers without analog) simply from overplaying them and throwing them at the ground/walls/people too many times. The sound on my original Playstation also was broken; I'd have to get a friend to come over and beat the top of it with his fist to get it to work, and even then it only worked half of the time.I spilled Coke all over 2 of my controllers for the GCN. Therefore, they didn't work anymore. The same thing happened to one of my 360 controllers, but I actually saw it happen and was able to prevent further damage then the X button sticking. I have a problem with spilling stuff.Oh, and I've also broken 2 360 headsets by rolling over them with my chair.

I actually have never broken a controler. My best friend had a few N64 controlers that the joystick stoped springing back into the center. He also spilt soda on his Dreamcast controler and the buttons would stick real bad. I took it apart and cleanded out all the gunk. It worked great after that. The only other thing I can say is that I used to use my old Nintendo controlers as cords to strap things down. I mean when you have 8 of them and they never break there is nothing else to do with the excess ones. I have no idea why we had so many.

Interestingly enough, despite throwing my NES, SNES, and N64 game controllers into the air, onto the floor, and at the television when I was younger, I don't think any of them ever broke. I should note that I would never buy a controller that wasn't officially licensed. That may have something to do with it. I guess Nintendo makes solid controllers that can stand up to a lot of abuse.
