Yeah Final Fantasy has been going downhill ever since 8. And XIII looks like the worst kind of sci/fi nonsense. they're going overboard now, and losing a customer.

Apparently, according to the FF developers, they are going to stop the series after this last one on the PS3. Anyone thoughts on this? or is this even true at all? Can someone verify?

we will know when they stop, when they really do. LOL! even if they plans to stop, some bastard might come make a press interview about the revival of the series. no joke.

I agree I mean it's not the FINAL Fantasy if they keep making them like with the Mission Immposible movies the missions arn't immposible or tom would be dead in less than a second.

i just dont like the way you fight. you have to wait and let them attack, and then u attack. also, they've made bad storylines.

Especially on this forum...give the other games a chance guys, the FF threads are choking this place! It seems to me FF games are getting a little too stagnant...they've been pretty much attempts at remaking FFVIII since they made IX, but with weak stories generic characters and failed battle systems...Anyone agree?

agreed, but it would never stop because final fantasy never gets old so the producers keep on going and going.

i think ff games are overdone theses days and shouldve been kept with the same battle sytems as 1 thru 8, the storylines arent that good.. i agree with you on this

I disagree with the topic. It's strange that I'm actually reading this, since most people I've seen have been whining that Final Fantasy is changing TOO MUCH. If you think about it, other than the title, the similarities of Final Fantasy are mainly in name and superficial elements. Sure, there are some common factors, but if you think about it that way, shouldn't Square Enix just rename all their RPGs Final Fantasy since they follow these factors as well (such as saving the world, villains having a back story, overly cute girls, orphans as heroes). Face it, most RPGs involve these elements. The point I'm trying to make is that the Final Fantasy Series doesn't really have a connection with each other, and that you can't really view them in a linear manner.I believe that the title of "Final Fantasy" is just a symbolic icon for RPG fans to rally under, even if you don't particularly like the series; it's just something to identify with. To Square Enix, the title is just there to flag whichever project they think they're putting the most resources in, as a signal to fans of their work.I'm not saying the series is all great, there are lots of things I hated in the series. But hey, I personally don't think that this series is going to disappear anytime soon.
