well I don't think short games suck. It's just that they tend to be short lived and after beating them, I'm bored again. Long games with really good story lines are really fun. I like FFIII for that reason but I have to say FF7 is one of the most longest games with one of the best storylines in it.

Short games are only good if they have decent gameplay [Metroid Prime Fusion], usually they are bad. Longer games are much better for value for money. If you fork over £40 for a game that is supposed to be great and it only lasts for a day or two, then it isn't exactly worth it, but if they have replay value then they ARE worth it.

It all depends on the game. Like the Naruto games, they are short but really fun. Short games are disappointing though

I agree. Alot of short games are so great you dont want them to end..then next thing you know it ends. But its also nice to have great games in small dosages. I sometimes feel that if it is stretched out too much the gameplay gets bland and boring <-- low tolerence

sometimes games which don't have a huge story or any story at all can be the most fun, take geometry wars on the xbox for example

For Me, Short Games are the worst. I like long games that are fun and addicting. I hate short games for 1 main reason: I always run out of fun things to do very easily in a short game.

I actually prefer shorter games. There are so many good games out there if I spend 20+ hours on each game I would never get around to most of them. Some games just drags on too long... for example, some tales of games would have been a lot better if it was more concise imho.

Probably posted before, but Trace Memory. That game uses every single function of the DS masterfully, but it's over in two hours! So sad.Pheonix Wright: Ace Attourney Justice for All, FTW!

Yeah, you just always feel ripped off if you spent any money on something that doesn't take more than a week at the least to finish during the first playthrough.

It ultimately depends on how fun the game is. A game like Crackdown is usually short in story, but big in gameplay. While a game like Star Ocean can be long and really boring dialoge wise. It evens out.

Yes, short games are quite crappy, indeed. The only time they're cool is if they have some CRAZY-GOOD replay possibilities. My favorite long game thus far HAS to be Final Fantasy 3. That game is just INSANELY SWEET!!!

I hate short games because the ending makes you feel empty. Also, I'd feel cheated of my money. There are actually a lot of short games that are good, and some can be considered short. Take New Super Mario Bros for example.

Define 'short'. Generally though, if a game takes me between 10~30 hours to beat (start to finish, not count mini-games/side-quests/perfect scores) I'm happy with it. But if a game is TOO long (70+ hours) I'll get just as frustrated.
