Generally, I'm an RPG kind of guy. However, since I've gotten into college, I've started playing more games that can be beaten in a weekend, e.g. Cooking Mama for the Wii, Phoenix Wright games for the DS, and Gun for the PS2 (at least, that's what I played it on). I agree that I prefer the short games I play to be replayable. :(

I'm a hardcore gamer, So, i don't really care how long it is,If it's a good game, but short, i'll still play it, and when it's finished, find a new game to play.My definition of short is something i can complete in two days, which is kinda perfect for me sometimes, gives me something to do on the weekends. So my conclusion:Short games are awesome if you want something to pass the time, long games are for those who want a game that'll last a long time, personally i don't like really long games...Besides, short games are usually really fun =D

I don't like paying for short games, nor do I like downloading free short games that take a long time. Give me a game that'll last me at least 20 hours and I'm golden. Otherwise, it's not worth buying, in my opinion.

Usually. But sometimes they're so good it's fine to be a short game. Like Gunstar superheroes.

If I shell out a lot of money for a game that doesn't take me a long time to beat, then yes, I would get upset. Usually I rent them first though.

If a game is short, it should make up for it in replay value. Otherwise, games shouldn't be short in storyline or gameplay.

It doesn't really matter to me, if it's short, I usually buy a new one once i'm done the game. If it's long, I usually get bored, and buy a new game. For example, three weeks ago I bought Naruto Path of the Ninja 2, I played it for a week, got bored. Went out and bought Guitar Hero for DS, I played it for a week, beat it, now i don't have any money, so i'm playing online games for free.

Nothing worse than dropping 60 bucks on a new game and two days later putting it on the shelf for good. But sometimes there's a mix of short and long - like Oblivion, where you can be done with the main story in hours, but keep coming back again and again! If I'm still playing a game years after I bought it, that's how I know I'm getting my moneys worth. Five years with Morrowind and I still haven't explored everything and done every side quest!

I dont exactly hate short games. But it does bug me when im playing a great game and its over. Its okay if they give you more to do but if they just end it and dont let you do anything else. That bugs me a lot lol

I dunno about usin' the word 'hate' and all. Short games might not be the best run for your money, but I've certainly been able to kill a couple of dead hours in lectures and waiting for/sitting on planes with quirky little games here and there. They might not be as epic as say, Pokemon or Golden Sun, but they certainly let the hours slip by a little faster. And seriously, sometimes its best if you don't get sucked into a week-long episode of 'I can't finish this ridiculous game save me now'

I don't hate short games as long as they have a good reason to be short. Portal is one of them. It's a great game, but it's short. It's short but I believe that if it were longer, it would start becoming repetitive and boring. Besides, there's an advantage for short games: they allow you to have more time to play different games and that makes a lot of difference if you don't have much time for gaming.

what about Fable 2, thats technically a short game, if you dont do any side missions or wonder around too much. and can be long game if you start wondering the whole world and leveling up your character.. but in general i love short games. Means i can move on to anther game sooner!

i can't emphasise how much i hate short games.. gets you hooked on, and right afterwards, it tells you that u're done.. =\

I feel for you man, Most of the short games I've played were disney related (excluding Kingdom hearts) I guess that its probably more for people who like to do the same thing over and over and you get the picture. Longest game I've played is Golden Sun and Pokemon. In Golden SUn I didn't know what to do next and on Pokemon I never consider a pokemon game complete until all the pokemon are under my disposal... all one thousand something.

If the game's story itself is short, but there are tons and tons of sidequests to keep me occupied otherwise (like in Fable 2), then I'm fine.Okami's story would have taken only about 40 hours, I think. But the game was so chock full of sidequests that I spent over 80 hours on the game. And that felt awesome.

Games like those are open-ended/sandbox/whatever though, they really don't "end".Like Sim City, yeah, you can reach all the goals but you can keep going and building.

I don't "hate" short games but I do admit I was disappointed when I beat Touch Detective 1 1/2 in only 8 hours. The game was so fun and charming then it ended =/
